I’m excited share this collaborative post with y’all about a great form of self-care.
If you’re searching for something to do that will make you feel absolutely wonderful, then look no further than entering a triathlon! Yes, you read that correctly, a triathlon.
By doing so you can give yourself something to work towards, and having something to work towards is something we humans need in order to thrive in life. By doing so you allow yourself to exercise not only your body, but your mind too. By doing so you can improve your running, swimming and cycling skills. And, by doing so, and by completing the race you enter, you give yourself something to always look back on and be proud of. So, do it! Enter a triathlon and reap the benefits listed above. But, before you do, make sure to check out the ins and outs of triathlon racing below.
Get entered
You can’t just turn up to a triathlon event and expect to be allowed to take part, even if it is a triathlon that is being held just for fun. No, you need to get yourself officially entered into any triathlon you wish to enter before the race day arrives. So, make sure to check out TriMapper to find up-to-date worldwide triathlon news and use its interactive triathlon finder map in order to find where and when your next convenient race is being held.
Get the gear
As you probably know, triathlons are multiple stage competitions where racers run, swim and cycle. And, because you will be facing such different conditions in the race you enter, you’re going to have to get yourself something to wear throughout the whole race that will help you flourish in each stage. You’re going to need a suit that is lightweight enough to help you run. You’re going to need a suit that can then act as a wetsuit as you swim. And you’re going to need a suit that keeps you cool whilst you cycle. And, fortunately, the trisuit offers all of this in one. So, get yourself this suit or a suit of the like and you’ll be ready to run, swim and cycle your way to glory without having to stop and change suits before every different stage of the race that you encounter.
Get there on the day
And, the most important thing of all is to make sure you turn up to your triathlon! This means battling all the excuses that come to your mind on the morning of the race day. It means beating those last minute nerves as you line up to start the race. And it means fighting any desire you have to give up once the race has started and remaining motivated throughout it, so as not to let yourself down!
Entering a triathlon is worthwhile experience for a number of reasons. It is worthwhile because it gives you something to focus on and train for. It is worthwhile because it will provide you with something to be proud of once you have complete it. And a triathlon can be made even more worthwhile if you race for a charity of your choosing and make a load of money for them!
