I feel like I wear the same face unless I’m going somewhere special and I’ve mastered my perfect 10 minute face. Most of these products are drugstore brands and they’re tried and true ones for me. I’ll break it down into the following sections: face, eyes, lips.
Face
Revlon Photoready Liquid Foundation in ‘Caramel’: I first heard about Revlon’s Photoready from Whitney (who no longer blogs and that makes me so sad). The coverage is amazing and you can’t beat the price! They recently changed the formula a bit and unless you want to look like a Cullen in the sunlight I suggest you set it with a powder. I’m not a fan of dewy looks so I was already using a powder. No big change for me!
Revlon Colorstay Pressed Powder in ‘Medium/Deep’: This is a new staple for me. I used to wear their Nearly Naked Pressed Powder, but I really like the Colorstay formula. I was hesitant at first, I didn’t want the powder to be too bright, but this matches me perfectly!
MAC Blush in ‘Raizin’: I feel every black woman needs to own this blush! It looks great on other races too, but I feel like this particular MAC shade was for us. It’s gorgeous all year long, but I especially love it in the fall.
ELF Golden Bronzer Palette: I recently got into bronzer so a quick swirl of this works for me.
Eyes
MAC Eyeshadow in ‘Embark’: I actually use this eyeshadow to fill in my brows. I get a bit of it on an angled brush and fill in my brows for more uniformity. A little bit goes a long way.
Maybelline Define-A-Line liner in ‘Soft Black’: I typically line my water line to define my almond shaped eyes and this works perfectly for me. I don’t have to worry about sharpening anything and I don’t have to worry about poking my eyes.
Sephora Eyeshadow in ‘Outrageous Metallic Peach’: Don’t be fooled by the name, this color is a gorgeous golden color. I actually received it from one of my best friends when I was one of her bridesmaids and this little pot has been going strong since December 2013.
Urban Decay Naked Palette – ‘Smog’: I pair this with my Sephora eyeshadow and the golden look is perfect for this crisp mornings that turn into balmy afternoons.
Maybelline Colossal Volum Express & Falsies Mascara: I wear both of these to achieve the falsies look whenever I don’t have on false lashes. I don’t know what it is about this combo, but they make my eyes pop.
Lips
I love a good neutral face with a bold lip. I wear bright colors in the spring/summer but fall/winter has me busting out the deep plums and reds.
NYC Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Monte Carlo’: I stumbled across this bad boy at a beauty supply store and it screamed my name. The price point was great and I’d had success with other colors in the line, so I didn’t hesitate to scoop it up. It’s my go-to red for this fall.
Covergirl Lipstick in ‘Spellbound’: For some reason that picture makes the color appear lighter than it is. It’s their dupe of MAC’s ‘Girl About Town’ and it’s the perfect pink for me during the fall and winter months.
