Stress. It’s a hot topic and something we’re all facing in one form or another, especially at work. As nice as it is to have mental health days and vacations where you can take a break and escape for a bit, at the end of the day you’re going to have to come back and deal with it all. I mean, we all have bills and responsibilities.
I’ve discovered a few tips and tricks throughout the years that have made balancing work and life a lot easier and I wanted to share them with y’all today.
Supplements – Whether it’s CBD or the Goli Ashwagandha gummies I’ve been taking for a month, I highly recommend taking some kind of supplement to help you mellow out. If you don’t want to try gummies I recommend CBD tinctures, you can drop some in your morning coffee or tea and it’ll work wonders!
Gas yourself up – I came across a TikTok a while back and immediately saved it. It was nothing spectacular, no crazy post-production or anything. Just simple video of a girl dancing and hyping herself up while a backing track played “bitch you doing a good job” over and over. A simple beat and affirmation is all it was, but it spoke to me, and it’s something that I sing to myself when I’m needing that bit of extra encouragement. Often times we stress ourselves out overthinking things and not realizing how incredible we actually are. When I find myself getting worked up I take a pause and will sing that little diddy to myself, and I encourage you to do the same.
No meeting Friday afternoons – This was something I proposed during one of recent team meetings and our team adopted it. I got tired of being overwhelmed and going into my weekends worried about the work I didn’t finish on Friday, and this was the solution for that. So unless it’s a meeting with someone important or it’s a 9-1-1 type of situation, we don’t have meetings on Fridays after 1PM. It’s been a game-changer, and I highly recommend it.
