Next week is Christmas. Can y’all believe that? I can’t believe how fast this month has flown by. I’m not sure if y’all are still shopping, but I wanted to share some of my best purchases of the year with y’all in case you are. A lot of these have helped me while working from home and others have just made my life better in general. A lot of these retailers are still shipping and you might even be able to get some of these before Christmas, if not right afterward.
Air Pods – I know that they’re a bit of a splurge, and I was…no am one of those people who talked mad shit about new Apple products before eventually purchasing them but these are worth it. Since I started working from home it’s made conference calls a ton easier! I have a few meetings that are right at the beginning of my workday so I’m able to walk around the kitchen, make coffee or breakfast, and still be able to hear and participate in the conversation without having to bring my laptop or phone to the kitchen. It’s the little things, y’all.
Popcorn maker – I bought a popcorn maker at the beginning of this quarantine period and I’ve been using it regularly! What I love about it is that I’m able to have popcorn whenever I want it, it doesn’t’ take long to make and I’m in charge of what all goes in it. Whether it’s light dust of salt, butter, a little candy (I said healthy-ish), or whatever it falls on me. Plus a few kernels go a long way!
Air fryer – I’m jumped on the bandwagon and have been using this thing a few times a week.
Sodastream – I treated myself to a SodaStream Fizzi One Touch Sparkling Water Maker for my birthday and I love it! I got it on major sale at Bed, Bath and Beyond and picked up a few syrups with it. It’s no secret that I love carbonated water, and it definitely tastes a bit different when it’s a fresh mix. I bought ginger ale syrup and even that tastes better! Plus I’m saving money in the long run by not having to buy a 12 pack of carbonated water each week.
Ring light – This has helped with content creation and also those evening meetings. The lighting in my living room and office area isn’t the best and this has helped TONS!
Google Nest Hub – This was an impulse buy, but worth it! It was on sale (and it’s back on sale) and this is what I use to work my smart devices at home, listen to podcasts and music and even play games.
Comfy clothes (bralettes, joggers) – This kind of goes without saying. I still wanted to put on some clothes while I worked from home, but didn’t want to wear real bras or anything too restricting. My loungewear collection has definitely increased, and I have fully embraced wireless bras and bralettes.
Monitor Stand & Keyboard and mouse set – I think these go without saying, but I had to shout them out because they’ve made it SO much easier for me to work from home. I didn’t have to bring my keyboard and mouse set home from the office and I’m able to keep my laptop at the appropriate height.
External Hard Drive – I scooped this up as another backup to all of the cloud storage.
Skinny syrups – These also started off as impulse buys, but have changed the game with my home and office coffee bar. I love this flavor and a couple of other ones and I’ve turned co-workers onto them as well!
Ergo Chair – I started the pandemic using my living room chair for my office chair and quickly realized that that had to change. This is an investment, but totally worth it.
