Short answer? Yes, they are.
I know that they’re a bit of a splurge, and I was…no am one of those people who talked mad shit about new Apple products before eventually purchasing them but these are worth it. I decided to treat myself with my tax return this year and bought a pair of the 2nd generation AirPods in February. They were on sale on Amazon and I was able to get the earphones and 3 silicone cases for them for less than the MSRP! They were eligible for overnight shipping so I had them the next evening, and I feel like I’ve used them every day since. The case isn’t a necessity, but I love it. I hook them in my purse and it makes them easy to differentiate when I’m out with other people who have them

Like I said, I talked mad shit about them when they first came out. I didn’t understand how anyone would want to spend that much money on wireless ear pods that could easily be lost. I didn’t think they’d stay in my ears and the last thing I wanted to do was to have to repurchase them because I lost one. Well (knocks on wood), that hasn’t happened yet, and I hope it doesn’t.
I love these little bad boys! I’m already not on my phone too much at home, I’m able to respond to most texts from my computer and I can take calls from my watch, but these make that easier. Calls are now clearer, and I don’t have to worry about taking everything on speakerphone. And when I was still working regularly in my office they made listening to podcast episodes that much easier. I could have one airpod in and my other ear would be free for other things.
I love how seamlessly it syncs to whatever device I’m using at the time, whether it be my phone, watch, iPad or computer the syncing process takes like seconds. And I love that I don’t have to have both of the earbuds in for them to work!
Since I started working from home it’s made conference calls a ton easier! I have a few meetings that are right at the beginning of my workday so I’m able to walk around the kitchen, make coffee or breakfast and still be able to hear and participate in the conversation without having to bring my laptop or phone to the kitchen. It’s the little things, y’all.
As I said, I know they’re a splurge but this was not a purchase I regret making. If you do decide you want to purchase them I would suggest going back a generation unless you absolutely need noise-canceling earbuds. I have over-ear headphones for that, so these are perfect for everything else!
