Hey y’all! Today’s collaborative post is needed during this uncertain time. Rona has a lot of us on edge, and we have to remember to breathe and make sure we’re doing something that brings us joy each day.
There are some serious steps that need to be taken to make sure that our lives are as bright as they can possibly be during this time. We know that the world is going through things that have never had to go through before. We’re living through a time where the world is falling apart, yet coming together quicker than it has ever been before. We know that as the days go by and the restrictions become tighter, we need to focus on brightening up your life as much as you possibly can be. Even if all of this wasn’t happening in the world, your life would no doubt be reaching a point where it’s either really good or really bad. If you feel like you already had a lot of rubbish going on in your life beforehand, then this will no doubt be the cherry on the cake for many of you. We know that when life gives you lemons and all the sayings that fly about during times like this, but it can be really hard to pick yourself up and carry on. So, I’m going to give you some expert advice that should keep your spirits high during these weird and wonderful times. Even if not during these weird and wonderful times, it’s still a good idea to make sure that you’ve got some tips and tricks under your sleeve to make sure that your life remains bright. Find The Fun In Your Life. This is one of the most important things that you can do. If you’re living in a part of the world that’s in lockdown, fear not, there are still plenty of things that you can do to make sure that you experience fun. If you’re not in lockdown, then you have all the more reason to make sure that you’re getting out and making the most out of life. You need to ensure that you’re doing all that you can to make sure that you’re making the most of your own freedom. So to find your fun in life, you need to make sure you’re doing just that. Focus on what you used to love in your life when you were younger. Adults often lose touch with what they used to love when they were younger because other responsibilities come into play. We have to work all of the time, we have to maintain a household, many adults have children to support. So you’re leaving little time for you and what you used to love as a child or indeed as a young adult. So, take up a hobby again and see how much your life improves. When you have so much to do in your life, a hobby can be a good distraction. It’s something that just you can get involved in, so it’s your own personal sanctuary from what you’re used to. Don’t think this has to involve something energetic. A hobby can be singing, playing an instrument, driving cars, whatever it is that you love to do
Keep The Boredom At Bay. If you do find yourself stuck at home because your job has shut down, or perhaps you’re working at home, then there are plenty of ways that you can keep your boredom at bay. Or perhaps you’re stuck in the office whilst everyone else is getting to work from home and you just need a way to pass a bit of the time in the afternoon. We know that jobs aren’t exactly busy at the minute! The first thing you can do is something fun, such as gaming. If you have a family that are also stuck in the home with you, you might benefit from this even more. The Nintendo Switch is a great form of gaming that you could try. They’re great family fun, or even fun if you just want to play on your own, they’re great fun. There are so many games that you could go for, such as the Mario Kart, or animal crossing. There are tons of multiplayer games that you could try. You could set up some form of gaming competition for your family to keep the fun going.
This might not be your style, and you might just want a quick and easy way to curb some boredom for an hour whilst you wait for the next thing that you’re able to do. Be More In Tune With Your Mind & Body. Often we’re not happy in our lives because we’re not happy with our body or our mind. If not, it’s just so easy to feel like your mind is generally all over the place because of worries, a busy life, or issues going on at that time. So if you feel like you’re completely out of synch with your body and your mind, then you’re most definitely not alone. The first thing you need to do is be more in tune with your body, and the best way to do that is to actually treat it right. Focus on sleeping right to begin with, because we know that this is the first essential part of human function that people screw up. Staying up and watching one more episode of a TV series has got to stop. With the right amount of sleep you can already feel like your mind and body are so much better. You then need to drink enough fluids, preferably water, to fuel your body. Dehydration is a key factor in feeling disconnected from the body and mind. You can then try and be more aware of your body and what it needs. Start every day by doing yoga. It’s a great way of achieving that mind and body connection. It practices self-control, flexibility, and core strength that your body and your mind need. Plus, it’s a great way to relax and start the day or wind it down. Always make sure you’re confronting any issues going on in your mind rather than locking them away. We often run away from our problems rather than facing them in the best way that we possibly can.
Feel-Good Strategies. There are definitely some feel-good strategies that you can use, and one of them is to practice more self-love. You should be able to love yourself and to do that it actually means dedicating time to yourself. So, for just one night a week, have a pamper night. Whether this is alone or with your friends, you should take the time to cleanse your whole body. Have a long hot bath, and allow your mind to relax, to begin with. Don’t be afraid to use a good skincare routine so that your skin feels healthy and fresh, and get into a bed with fresh bedsheets. Instantly you’re being filled with those good vibes that you might miss out on if you don’t practice self-care. You also need to focus on things that make you feel good. It’s good for you to be able to curl up in bed and have some chocolate if that’s what’s going to make you feel good. It’s good for you to go out every weekend and eat good food and drink if that’s what you like to do. Often we feel so restricted with what we can do in life because people say it’s bad for us. But as long as you’re not overindulging what’s the problem!
Facing Your Demons. Finally, you need to make sure that you’re facing your demons and understanding what’s going on in your own mind and body that might be stopping you from living your best life. Your demons might be anything from making sure that you’re stopping smoking because smoking can cause so many other health problems and some say can even alter the way you think. Or you need to make sure you’re facing your mental demons, because, like many others around you, you’re not alone. Mental health problems have become a huge factor in how you live your life. But because the world is so pro mental health now, it has become easier than ever to talk about the issues and battle them head-on. You can talk to specialists who can now come up with plans that support those suffering from mental health problems without putting them on medication.
