We’re in the thick of pumpkin patch season and last weekend I went to a huge one with the family. The weather was perfect, sunny and cool and we were able to spend a few hours exploring the property and letting the kids tire themselves out on all of the rides.
I wanted to share a few tips with y’all to help you get the most out of your pumpkin patch trips, and so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.
Wear sneakers or boots – I made the mistake of wearing flats and by the time we left the property the top of my feet looked like I’d been dancing in flour. My flats were comfortable, but I would’ve been more comfortable in sneakers.
Bring sunglasses – It might have been cool, but the sun was high! I would suggest to either wear a hat like my step-mom did or wear sunnies.
Look out for sales – Yeah, that might sound weird for a pumpkin patch, but we saved a TON of money on the price of tickets by going on a military and first responders’ appreciation weekend.
Hit up the gift store – Whether you’re grabbing water to stay hydrated or snagging a jar of pickled okra, they tend to have a lot of foods and that are made by onsite veggies or are locally sourced.
Have fun and take all of the pictures – You won’t be the only one and those pictures are the perfect keepsake!
We still have a few more weeks until it’s too cold to hit up the pumpkin patches so go out and enjoy them.
