Happy Valentine’s Day!! I hope you’re celebrating with the ones you love, and that you have a bae-cation or a vacation coming soon. I’m honestly shocked I’ve stayed still this long. The wanderluster in me is itching for a new trip, and I’m counting down the days until I’m wheels up and headed to Portland! I had a trip out of town last week, but it was a quick day trip so that one kind of doesn’t count. I considered making it an overnight one, but the daunting task of packing clothes quickly changed that. We were spending a day at the Capitol and I knew that my toiletries/make-up bag would be a breeze to pack, my clothes were a completely different chore. In fact, packing my toiletries bag is one of the easiest parts of packing. I have what some might call my go-bag and I keep my essentials in there so I can quickly through it whatever overnight bag or suitcase I’m taking with me. The contents of my go-bag might differ slightly depending on the trip, but there are some core items that never leave it.
Gel – Whether I’m slicking down edges or rocking a “wash ‘ go” hairstyle that I’ve been loving recently, this gel is being used. A little goes a long way so a small 3oz container will last me a few days.
Mascara – I’ve had an on again/off again relationship with mascara. It used to be one of those beauty products that I would use if I had it, but I wouldn’t freak out if I didn’t. Well, that’s changed recently. Mascara can truly change the look of your eyes and eye makeup. I didn’t realize how much it made my eyes pop and how it pulls a look together, so much so that I keep a tube of my favorites in my go-bag.
Lipstick – Another recent love in my life. I went from having maybe 3 or 4 tubes of lipstick in the same color family to venturing out and owning dozens! I mentioned my love of liquid lipsticks on here before, and that love is growing.
Toner – A key step in the facial cleansing process, and one I don’t skip. I’ve been loving the Bioré Witch Hazel Toner recently; it’s light-weight which is perfect for my sensitive skin but the witch hazel in it is powerful enough to remove whatever residue my cleaner leaves behind. Plus witch hazel is known to tighten pores and the salicylic acid controls oil and treats blemishes. Adult and hormonal acne is really and let’s be honest, I need all of the help I can get!
Under eye cream – Bags are real and unless they’re on my arm, or being dragged behind me in an airport I don’t want them being seen. I didn’t start having issues with dark under eyes until my (very) late twenties and now I make sure that I keep cream with me. I’ve worked it into my daily routine and I will say that a little bit goes a long way.
Pore Strips – My love for Biore runs deep. I’ve been using their products for years, well over a decade and again they’ve knocked it out of the park! I picked up the Bioré Witch Hazel Pore Strips to go along with the toner and I have to say that I’m impressed! Not only do they help get rid of and prevent the blackheads on my nose, but they refine my pores, and help prevent future breakouts! It’s truly magic!
