Today’s collaborative post makes my little wanderlust heart happy!
Traveling takes care of all the main things in your life – the social side, the enlightening part, and the bucket list element too. However, it isn’t great for any woman who’s trying to stay fit. Sure, the weight may drop off like a lead balloon, yet that doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Usually, it’s out of sheer bad routine and a terrible diet!
Thankfully, it doesn’t always have to be this way. Ladies, if you love to travel and want to stay in relatively good shape, all you need is a little ingenuity. Here’s the advice to remember on your next trip.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for travelers, but for different reasons. Health-wise, it’s a savvy move to start the day by filling up on scrambled eggs and whole grain toast. When you do this, you do two main things. The first one is to consume plenty of fiber because these meals are full of it. This then lines the stomach for a long time, which means you won’t be hungry while later and won’t eat as much. Secondly, it keeps the price down because most hostels include breakfast in the cost of a room.
You Do The Driving
No, not in a car or a tuck-tuck or a rickshaw, but on a bicycle. Fellow travelers will say you should do more walking, but the truth is it’s difficult in the warmth. When there is no shade, you’re vulnerable to everything from sunburn to heatstroke. Riding a bike is a lot easier in the heat and humidity, yet it still works the muscles around the body. Plus, there is a constant breeze from the wind so you won’t be boiling and ready to evaporate. And, it isn’t as if they are expensive in most parts of the world.
You may not be at home, yet that doesn’t mean you can’t exercise in the dorm room. As long as it’s free and you’re not in anybody’s way, there is nothing wrong with going through a range of activities. The fantastic thing about them is that they are basic and effective at the same time, which means you don’t need many resources. Almost all workout plans for women include yoga so you can get your fill of power, strength, and cardio in one thirty minute session. Don’t forget to supplement it with a swim if there is a pool to hand.
There’s a temptation to eat out a lot because the rates are low. But, going to restaurants is an unhealthy way to regulate your diet as you’re not in control. By cooking, you take back the power and get to help your body in the process. Go to the local supermarket and pick up some groceries. Then, whip up a traveler favorite such as pasta, a stir-fry, or fajitas. These options are tasty and full of vegetables.
You can also swap the elevator for the stairs or walk to the local sights if you’re inclined.
