I’m back with another collaborative wanderlust post for y’all! I’m sharing a few simple tips to help you get started on that perfect home gym! If you’re like me the hardest part is getting to the gym and hopefully, these tips will eliminate that hurdle.
Are you someone who wishes you could be grinding away at the gym 24/7? With plenty of energy and motivation to keep yourself going? Maybe you just want to be able to spend a whole day on a treadmill and come off of it with the beach body you’ve always craved? Either way, there’s a lot in your lifestyle that’s currently stopping you, and it’s getting you a bit down.
When it comes to feeling better about yourself, both mentally and physically, there’s a lot that can be said for the benefits of exercise. And hey, we can’t all afford a gym membership, or have the energy to hit the workout floor five times a week, so why not install a mini gym inside your own home? No, you don’t have to fork out for an entire renovation, you’ve just got to be smart about your space! So here’s a couple of ideas on how you can do just that.
The home is a good place to get the body of your dreams, seeing as the shower and the sofa are nearby!
Don’t Buy Expensive Equipment
The investment is very unlikely to pay off, and you’re just going to feel guilty about buying something so hefty that you never use! So make sure you give yourself a break in your quest to get into a better shape or state of health, and only buy what you know you can afford in the long term, what you know how to use, and something you can easily fold and put away when need be.
A lot of the time that involves running on a budget, and only buying budget equipment. Or buying daily substitutes instead of a $500 dumbbells; big bags of oranges in each hand that you progressively increase can do the same thing for you. You can buy these items later on when you know you can use them, and have fully developed the habit of working out every day.
Clear Out Your Clutter
Most of all, you’re going to need room to move, and you can’t do that if the coffee table is in the way and there’s magazines and tissue boxes all over the floor (to say the least!). You want your workout space to motivate you, to make sure you don’t hurt yourself unnecessarily, and to always be available when you’ve got calories to burn. Have a little tidying session right now if need be!
Or you could build yourself a garage gym, by taking the car out and sitting it in the driveway during the warmer and drier months, and have plenty of room to kickflip a punching bag and Zumba your way to perfect dancing hips. When there’s a space you can really let go in available, you’re actually going to take every opportunity you can to exercise your muscles!
Creating a workout space is completely up to you, as long as you’re prepared properly for it. So clear out and buff yourself up!
