I know I’m slightly past the middle of the year, but I wanted to check in with y’all and let you know where I am with my resolutions as well as seeing where y’all are with yours.
I did something a bit different this year and didn’t do an official resolution list, instead I decided to go the ‘One Little Word‘ route and chose ‘courage‘ as my word of the year. I’ve truly stuck to that this year too! I wanted to be more courageous in all that I do, and I think I’ve been doing well. I’ve been traveling more this year, and even when I’ve traveled with other people I’ve made a point to carve out time to do something for myself. I’ve been more courageous in my love life, which I touch on more in a future post/podcast episode. Speaking of that, I’ve DEFINITELY been more courageous with podcasting. We’re on a hiatus now, but we’ll be releasing new episodes soon and I can’t wait for y’all to hear those! I’ve even been more courageous with my blog. I’ve done a few sponsorsed posts and partnered with brands that I love and I’m even speaking on a panel at HAAB’s boot camp this year about that! In fact, if you haven’t bought your tickets for that you can do that now by clicking this link. Just so y’all know that is an affiliate link and I’ll receive a small commission off of your purchase.
I’ve even been more courageous with my finances this year, and speaking of that we had our first Dream Catcher’s Vision Board Party this past weekend. I’ve been a member of the national Dream Catchers group for almost three years now, and a member of the local Houston chapter as well as an admin for almost two years! We meet monthly and discuss our financial goals, share ways to help achieve those goals whether it’s saving, cutting costs, downsizing, taking on additional streams of income, etc and just have monthly check-ins on where we are in life period. I love it! I’m held accountable for my financial and business goals and I’m able to share tips on things that I love with group, like traveling and blogging!
One of the ways we’re able to hold ourselves accountable and stay on track with our goals is by creating a vision board. That way you’re able to see a daily reminder of what you want to accomplish. What I love about vision boards is that they’re so versatile and customizable. You can be as literal or symbolic as you want as long as there’s focus. The last thing you want to do is fill the space up with a bunch of random pictures because then that just shows chaos and will bring that into your life. I actually have 3 vision boards, and one of them has just about every goal checked off so I’m not sure if I’ll be bringing that one to my new place with me. Don’t worry, I’ll touch more that on that move later.
We spent a few hours getting our boards together and I wanted to share a bit of the process with y’all as well as a few of the almost-finished products with you. Are vision boards your thing? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them and whether you have one or a few in your closet, planners, homes now. Comment below or tweet me and let me know!
