So, I went to Dallas this past Sunday for Justin Timberlake’s first Dallas ‘Man of the Woods’ show…and I came back home on Monday. Yes, you read that correctly. I caught an early Megabus out of town for one day for a concert and came home the next day. This wasn’t the first time I did and I’m sure it won’t be the last. I knew that I wouldn’t need much since I was only going for a night, but I wanted to share what I packed with y’all, especially since all I brought was a backpack.
Backpack – This is the backpack I brought with me. It’s pretty spacious and I was able to hold everything I needed in it comfortably, plus it’s cute!
Toiletries bag – I keep this bag packed at all times so I’m able to throw it in my luggage when I’m traveling. Body wash, lotion, hair cream, sleeping pills, alka-seltzer, pain pills, contacts and solution, makeup remover and Clorox wipes are just a few things in the bag.
Travel Makeup – I kept it REALLY light for this show. I knew I’d be sweating so I only brought concealer, powder, blush, highlight, mascara, Benefit brow pencil and Maybelline’s new Tattoo Studio brow gel. I LOVE THIS STUFF!! I’ve been using it all month and it does exactly what it says. Yes, I had my eyebrows microbladed/ombred, but I still fill them in when I’m wearing makeup to complete the look. I love how easy it is to use and the longevity of it. I personally haven’t the two day claim, but I will say that it lasts all day when I wear it.
Denim jacket – I picked this jacket up a few months ago and it was perfect for the chilly bus ride and the tied my concert outfit together. Plus I was able to put my *NSYNC pins on it!
Misc clothing items – I really didn’t bring much with me. I wore a pair of leggings, packed a pair of joggers, two tops, undies and a nightgown. I had a bit of time to kill before I was able to check into my hotel so they shuttled me over to the nearest movie theater where I caught ‘Breaking In’ and I was super happy I kept things pretty casual.
Gadgets – Once again, I kept things light and only brought my iPad for entertainment on the bus (I’m about halfway through season 2 of ’13 Reasons Why’) and my wireless headphones. I also brought my portable chargers which saved my behind a few times. I had to charge my phone while I was at the movies and ended up letting another concert goer charge her phone at the show when I noticed the dreaded ‘Low Battery’ pop-up on her phone at the beginning of the concert.
Wristlet – I didn’t want to carry a full purse or even a crossbody for this show, especially when my wristlet worked just fine for the Houston shows. It ended up working out perfectly!
That’s it! That was all I packed, and looking at this list it looks long but I promise everything fit and I had everything I needed for the trip. I’m finding that it’s getting easier to pack for trips now that I have quite a few under my belt and I think that this list is perfect for an overnight concert trip or just an overnight trip in general. What do y’all think?
