I’m excited to share this collaborative post with y’all about ways to stay entertained and sane while traveling…especially during long layovers!!
We’ve all been there. You’ve already been sat patiently waiting for a gate to appear on the board when an announcement comes over the tannoy informing you that your flight is delayed. Traveling is incredible, but there’s no doubt that there’s a fair amount of time filling involved. If you travel regularly, and you’re running out of ways to kill time, here are just some of the ways your phone can help you beat travel boredom.
TV and movies
If you were at home instead of being at the airport, what would you be doing? Many of us spend our evenings watching TV or movies. With a smartphone, you don’t have to be snuggled up on the sofa to access boxsets and catch new releases. You can download movies or series to watch when you’re on your travels, or you can stream programs. With a vast array of titles to choose from, you’ll be immersed in a new series before you know it and the time will fly.
Gaming
Are you a fan of sports? Do you enjoy PC gaming at home? Are you keen to see what all the fuss is about and find out why over a billion people in the world play online games? With your phone and an Internet connection, you can access a veritable treasure trove of gaming options. Check out sites like https://www.kruzey.com.au/free-bets/ and have a flutter, play your favorite arcade games for free or try and battle enemies and conquer the world with your newly formed army. Whether you’re into sports, fantasy or history, or you’re a fan of a quiz, online games are easily accessible, and they can provide hours of entertainment.
Catching up
If you’ve been busy of late, and your friends and family have been on the back-burner, why not use your time to get in touch? You can make calls and video calls, catch up on social media or send out emails without paying a cent. Organize an event on social media with your friends, make plans to visit family or just check in and see how everyone’s doing. There’s a growing number of social media platforms available, and you can send and receive messages instantly.
Downloading apps
If you’re traveling, why not use the time you have available at the airport to download some apps that will come in handy on your trip? You could look for recommendations for activities, excursions, and restaurants, organize transfers, check the weather, look for accommodation and make sure you have all the maps and information you need for your trip to run smoothly. It’s also a good idea to look at translation apps if you don’t speak the language.
If you travel frequently, you’re probably aware that getting from A to B can take time. If you’ve got hours to kill at the airport, hopefully, these ideas will help to keep boredom at bay.
