I had an R&B filled weekend. If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw my stories and heard me singing my heart out to some classics and recent R&B songs. Friday night I went to the Houston stop of Colors R&B Only show and spent the night dancing with friends, drinking whiskey and singing to R&B hits of late. There were a few staples in there from my childhood, but was mostly hits from my high school years to now. We sang off-key to Usher, Trey Songz, Jeremih, Drake and more!
Saturday night was the 90’s R&B Block Party in Sugarland, and I went and had fun with my girls even though the weather was t-rash!! I’d seen 112 in concert at the Bad Boy Reunion tour back in 2016, but it was my first time seeing Jagged Edge and Guy. In fact, prior to this tour Guy hadn’t been on tour since 1990 so I would’ve never seen them because I was 2 years old! Those guys (pun intended) put on a show though! They were out there moving like they were the same ages as they were 28 years ago. Aaron Hall said that he was 53 years old and my jaw dropped. I had an absolute ball and I wouldn’t mind seeing them again!
Anywho! Today I wanted to share some of my ever-growing R&B playlists with y’all. One of them is full of R&B songs of late and the other one is full of 90’s R&B classics. Take a listen below and let me know your favorite songs and what memories the classic ones triggered.
