I’m excited share another collaborative post with y’all featuring some blogging tips!
If you’re a fan of my site, you likely understand the relevance of blogs for the modern ecosystem of the internet. They often offer the best and most down to earth advice you can find on various subjects, as they are often authored by real people exploring issues the best way they know how. Finding this personalized and curated advice can often introduce you to new concepts in an engaging manner. As you develop your own relationship to the blogger’s words and insights, you might find credence in learning about other subjects they blog on you’re less experienced with.
This can inspire you to begin blogging yourself. If this sounds like you, you should go for it! Connected with a community can be one of the most validating and fun hobbies to have, especially if you eventually monetise your efforts. However, building an audience should be your first consideration. There are many ways for you to do this. From researching detailed WordPress tips to learning how SEO (search engine optimization) organically grows an audience,
I’d argue one of the best is to involve yourself with ‘supplementary content.’ The internet is such an interrelated platform (the term ‘internet’ might suggest this,) that backing up your blog with additional platforms can work wonders in bringing more people in. Here’s some advice on the matter:
YouTube
Blogging is a largely text-based format. While this appeals to a range of people and is universal, sometimes you can draw more people in by crafting curated videos explaining your points in person. While you may not see yourself as a vlogger, supplementing visual content into your posts can surely give them a new life, as it helps inject more depth to the discussed subject matter.
Not only does this make your blogging content more interesting, but it allows for a second audience to grow on YouTube. If you tag and link these two pieces of content well, you might find that you have twice the opportunity of organic audience growth.
You needn’t have to repeat the content of your articles in video form either. For example, if your blog is depicting a healthy diet or workout plan you have found, you might actually put this to the test and show yourself performing exercises, crafting meals or explaining the diet in great depth. The possibilities are endless, only limited by your creativity.
Twitch
Twitch is known as a massive Amazon-owned video game streaming platform. To be more correct, it WAS known as this. These days it serves as a wonderful live service, allowing you to stream in creative and ‘IRL’ real life categories. If you present your skills through the form of a blog (such as digital illustration,) you might find value in streaming your creative process online.
Many people search for originality and entertainment on these sites, leaving you open to building an audience and second means of monetization through a service such as this. Linking in your blog as you would connect social media accounts could draw another audience to your network. Before long, your blog will become a hub for all of your supplementary activities, and open up brand new methods of earning money for what you do.
I wish you the best luck in the world if you do decide to take this plunge. Quality content creators should always be celebrated. Before long, you will look back to this article and see where your success began (I hope!) Have fun!
