I said that I wasn’t going to do it. I said that I wouldn’t get sucked down the rabbit hole that is Taylor Swift buzz after I heard the first single from her upcoming album, but that all changed when I heard the second single.
I cannot stand “Look What You Made Me Do”, but “…Ready For It?” has been my jam since it debuted weeks ago. Her vocals are average at best and the lyrics are catchy, but the production of the track that gets me moving. I’m a sucker for a good percussive drive on a track and that song has a few. Then she dropped “Gorgeous” and it reminded me of the ‘1989’ Taylor. This was the Taylor that fully embraced her pop side and that was the album that I like the most. Then this past Friday she dropped “Call it What You Want”, which was definitely ‘1989’-ish track. Another “my boyfriend” track, but hey, what else do we expect from her.
I know that she said that the “old Taylor is dead”, but the tracks that she’s released so far beg to differ. I’m still looking forward to her new album and in celebration of it dropping on Friday I wanted to share some of old favorite T. Swift tracks with y’all. Take a listen below and let me know if your favorites are in the playlist, let me know if I need to add any other tracks!
