I have another collaborative post for y’all today, this one combines my love of traveling and working out!
Traveling is all fun and games until it messes with your exercise routine. Normally, you spend months getting your body ready for all the travel photos, then it all goes to waste after a week or two of traveling.
The main excuse is that you can’t work out when you’re away as you don’t have the necessary space or equipment. Well, this is a load of rubbish! Cmon, no more excuses, you can easily work out as you travel, all you need are these three things.
A Small Amount Of Space
You don’t need a hotel with a gym to get a quick workout as you travel. Admittedly, this does help, so it’s a welcome bonus when your hotel has one. But, if you’re not staying in a hotel or you don’t have access to a gym, then all you need is a little bit of space. Technically speaking, you only need enough space to lie down in. So, even if you have a tiny hotel room, you can still workout doing push-ups, squats, ab crunches; you name it. Alternatively, if you need some extra space, you can always go outside to workout. I’m sure there’s a park somewhere or a nice open field for you to exercise in. When you think about it, a lack of space isn’t really an excuse when you’re traveling and need to work out!
Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are so handy when working out anywhere. They’re great to help you warm up in the gym, and they’re fantastic at taking your travel workouts to the next level. Be warned, some bands are much weaker than others due to their poor quality, and they will snap. So, make sure only the best resistance bands make it into your suitcase. You can use them in a hotel room, out in a park; anywhere. They add extra resistance to your workouts, meaning you can work harder and see better results on the move. The best thing is, they fit into your hand luggage with ease. So, if your excuse for not working out is that you don’t have access to weights while you’re traveling, then this crushes that excuse! With a heavy resistance band, you can really overload your muscles.
Your Phone
Last but not least, you need your phone to partake in a quick travel workout. Why? For many reasons; firstly, you can use your phone to look up workout videos on YouTube. This gives you an idea of what you should do, meaning you don’t waste time standing around trying to think of different exercises. It gives you more structure to your workout and eliminates the excuse that can’t think of a workout to do. Secondly, you can use your phone as a timer or stopwatch to ensure you’re resting for as long as you need to and can track your progress if you go for runs every day.
Three things. That’s all you need for a quick travel workout. No more excuses, continue your exercise routine even when you’re halfway across the world.
