Today’s post is another collaborative one about one of my places to visit, London!
Doesn’t that sound amazing right now? Everybody needs a little break from time to time and with the stresses of Christmas looming, this break is needed now more than ever. So why not give yourself a little treat and take the trip of a lifetime. It doesn’t have to be long, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, but it does have to be fun. One of the greatest cities in the world to have a little fun in is London. It’s home to so many great sights and great people. A trip to London will truly be a trip of a lifetime. Let’s explore why!
To people living in the UK, London is rather expensive. But if you’re coming from the US, you might think it’s not that bad compared to what we have to pay, which is great. There are cheap flights to London as well, so getting there and spending money shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you’re only going for a short stay. A short stay in London is probably wise as the hustle and bustle of it all can mean it’s hard to spend some time relaxing. A holiday to London is all about immersing yourself in the new culture. So if you’re coming to relax, you should probably look for a short stay just outside London as well. Look around to find a few good deals.
While you’re there you’re going to have so many things to do. Let’s start with a little bit of history. There is the famous natural history museum which anyone will love, especially children if you’re bringing them along. It holds tonnes of bones and artifacts that are actually really interesting to look at. There’s the science museum which is really interesting and has so many different attractions within it. Both of these are free as well, and is definitely a great way of spending the day with whoever you’re travelling with. Then there’s the famous monuments such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, The London Eye. You’ll literally be able to fill each day with doing something fun and exciting. Head into the boroughs of London to experience the different markets and cultures that you’ll be able to find. You should also give the London Dungeons ago. They’re really scary, but at the same time you’ll have so much fun.
London is full of some great restaurants, so if you’ve never been before, you’re in for a culinary treat. There are a few famous ones such as the Marco Pierre White, or there will be some really quirky and unique smaller restaurants if you head out and explore the streets. The markets in Camden do the best mozzarella sticks in the world, so if you’re heading down to Camden, you really shouldn’t miss out. If you’re looking for fine dining, try out Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden for some tasty food. There’s also a tonne of fancy cocktail bars wherever you turn. Be careful though, the pricing of some of the cocktails is really high, so do a little bit of research before you head out there. There are some smaller cheaper ones that might be a little more suited to your budget.
