I’m back at it again with another collaborative wanderlust post for you guys!!
If you have a hankering to see something so spectacular that it may make you weep at the sheer sight of its splendor, you should consider hot-footing it to the Grand Canyon. One of the most accessible seven wonders of the world, this natural phenomenon is a sight to behold. The central meeting point of two gorges, the ancient rocks, sparse vistas and desert-like habitat will see you immersed in a totally new environment. Whether you are an ardent backpacker who slums it from hostel to hostel or whether you are more used to five-star luxury, the Grand Canyon has something to offer everyone. Take a look at these reasons why you should have the Grand Canyon at the top of your travel bucket list.
Activities
The Grand Canyon is much more than just an awesome vantage point from which to take in the views. If you sign up to one of the many caravan.com Grand Canyon tours, you’ll be able to experience everything that the Grand Canyon National Park has to offer. You can spend one day white water rafting, the next hiking off piste among the crevices of the majestic gorge and another day cycling around the North Rim. A guided tour will allow you to have an itinerary planned out for you. You’ll get access to the best instructors, the most adrenaline-inducing activities and you could find yourself experiencing some hikes a little off the traditional tourist trail.
Wildlife
If you’re a bit of a twitcher or love nothing better than hiding in a bush adorned with camouflage paint, then you’ll love the wildlife that calls the Grand Canyon National Park it’s home. You might get to see mountain lions, coyotes, elk and cute little cottontail rabbits. The best thing about spying these creatures is that you can make a note of them and then head to the museum to learn all about the wildlife that you’ve had the privilege to observe.
Viewpoint
You don’t have to find yourself hiking up to the South Rim to see the vista in all its awe-inspiring magnificence. Why not think outside the box and splash the cash on a helicopter tour. To surge up through the gorge and emerge on top of the world promotes a feeling like no other. Not many people will be fortunate enough to say that they have looked down onto the Grand Canyon from the sky. This unique vantage point will allow you to see the layers of prehistoric rock and understand the formation of this geographical feature in a deeper sense.
Skywalk
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is an absolute must for any visitor to the site. To be able to venture out onto a horseshoe-shaped bridge 4000 feet above the Grand Canyon is a once in a lifetime experience. At Eagle Point you can have a jaunt onto the bridge, partake in a Sa’ Nyu Wa meal and explore the Native American village to see how the Navajo once lived amongst the wonder of the Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is one of this planet’s geographical phenomenons. Why not fulfil your craving for an adventure and take a trip to this must-see wonder of the world?
