I’m excited share this collaborative holiday gift guide post with y’all!
That time of year is coming round when the weather’s getting colder, the leaves are looking beautiful and brown, and thoughts of Christmas are starting to creep up on you. The food, fireplaces, mistletoe, Christmas movies, seeing family, everyone’s thoughts turn to it as the year draws to a close. Every year you say “I’m going to start my Christmas shopping earlier”, however that rarely happens. So why not make this year, the year you get on top of buying your presents? This means less panic, and more enjoyment of Christmas when the time finally comes round. Here is some inspiration for the whole family and friends, to give you some ideas of what your can buy this year.
Frames for Artwork
You can buy frames for artwork, that would be great to put your kids drawings in. This means less clutter around the house, and shows that you care and admire the little things they do for you. It’s easy to replace each picture with the next, when new ones come along.
Card Against Humanity
This is great for young adults, and older ones too. A great gift for someone about to go off to college as well. The UK and US ones are slightly different, but it is guaranteed to get you some laughs. Getting a gift like this means that the whole family can join in too. The gift of laughter is by far one of the most fun gift to give.
A Notebook
This can be a really thoughtful gift, and a great stocking addition too. Moleskin or leather ones can look especially nice, and often have better paper quality as well. This can encourage your loved one to write down their thoughts, and maybe be a bit more self reflective and mindful. You can also get ones especially tailored for to do lists, or collecting recipes, so there is a notebooks out there for everyone.
Watch
A staple of gift giving, watched always go down well. It’s suitable for any member of the family, and if you have the cash to splash, it can be a very sophisticated gift. If you’re on a budget or fancy getting a more unique watch, why not check out some local jewelers for second hand or vintage watches, or even look online. The quality might not be as good, but the designs are often a lot more quirkier, if that’s the look you’re going for.
Gift Cards
If your really don’t know what to get someone, or you don’t have enough time to handpick a gift, there’s no harm in getting someone a gift card. You can also buy them with bitcoin now too if you have any. Many major retailers such as amazon, marks and spencers, or American Apparel and the list goes on and on. If you have bitcoin to spend this Christmas, or want to know more about it there is this huge guide to Bitcoin. There are places to spend it if you have it, this is probably the future so we should get used to it!
Travel Suitcases and Backpacks
Buying your friends and family gifts they will actually use is always a plus. Buying someone a traveller’s backpack can be a nice way of supporting them and encouraging the to travel the world. There so many different kinds from colourful, to designer, to basic, you’re bound to find something to suit anyones taste and style.
Touchscreen Gloves
This can be a very useful present with a dual purpose. Are you fed up with your family member complaining about being cold when they’re using their phone outside? Or are they always pulling one off, attempting to use their phone but not succeeding? This can solve these problems. These gloves are a useful gift for Christmas, and can still be used for early next year too. A must have for any phone addict in your family.
Cookbooks
Buying someone a cookbook, is giving them the gift of good food, and hopefully you can try some too! You can find anything from regional, places around the world, to spiralizing or even vegan or lactose free ones too. A cookbook is a thoughtful gift, and a good thing to add to anyone’s kitchen.
Do Some Baking
For your colleagues it can be difficult to know what to get them, but everyone can enjoy some Christmas food in the office. This way everyone is included, and makes work a little bit merrier. You never know, you might set off a chain reaction of baking and cooking at work, and everyone will be bringing in gifts right up until Christmas.
Subscriptions
These are gifts that just keep on giving, all throughout the next year as well. Does your partner love a certain magazine? Or are they a health fanatic? There are lots of healthy food subscriptions like graze, for example, that deliver to your door. This could help someone start the health kick they have been intending to do for a while, or even introduce them to some new foods. It could be a tasty Christmas for them!
Bike Products
Lots of people have bikes to commute on, get to school on, or just really enjoy that form of transport. Instead of buying them a whole new bike, why not buy them some bike paint to freshen up their bike. This way it can feel and look like a different bike, for just a fraction of the price. Any safety equipment like lights, or reflective jackets, is always a useful gift as well.
Buying gifts for friends and family can be difficult, so hopefully this has given you some ideas. It’s good to have some things in mind , before you hit the shops. Doing your shopping online could mean a lot less hassle than going to the high street. Get your shopping done before it get too busy and be ahead of the game. Closer to Christmas delivery times are going to be extended, so it’s important to be organized and have an idea of what you want beforehand.
