I have a few new faces around here, so I wanted to take the time do a life lately type post again. One of my favorite things to do with friends is grabbing coffee or tea at one of many great coffee shops in town. In fact, I’d probably recommend we go to throughgood that way we could have delicious coffee and baked goods. I’d even encourage you to split a Big-Ass biscuit with me!
I’d probably order an iced coffee because it doesn’t get that cold here in Houston and suggest we sit outside because the outside area is nice. Oh, and that way we can get as loud as we want when we talk about how my Astros swept the series this year. Our boys are beyond talented, and I feel like this win showed everyone that that’s true and was the HUGE morale boost that we need after Harvey.
We’d probably chat a bit traveling and I’d ask if you had any fun trips planned for the next few months before telling you about my upcoming NOLA vacations, the Greece one I’m working on for next Spring, and the blowout I’m planning for my 30th birthday next August. I’m thinking 90’s themed Aruba beach party, but the details still need to be worked out. Of course our conversation would smoothly transition over to music and concerts, especially Justin Timberlake’s most recent one in Austin. It was a short one, but so good! He sang a lot of his hits from past albums and even segued a Stevie Wonder cover into “What Goes Around”. The man is a musical genius, and I can’t wait to see what he does at the Super Bowl next year. I left town when it was here this year, but if he was performing I would’ve stayed.
I’d probably ask you about your upcoming holiday plans and about any traditions you and your family have. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing for Thanksgiving and Christmas, not sure if I’ll even be in town. In fact, I’m not sure if I’ll have my annual Friendsgiving this year. I want to, but I have a ton of commitments this month and I’m not sure if I’ll have the time for it this year. Instead, I’ll probably just have my holiday cookie swap party. That means that I’ll need a really good cookie recipe. I typically contract out or pick some up from the store, but this year I think I actually want to bake some. In fact, I’m open to recipe suggestions or else I’ll just find one on Pinterest.
At this point I’d probably suggest we get refills on our drinks to go and give you the biggest hug before we make plans to do it again in the near future!
