…and I love it. No, I don’t have a live-in boyfriend nor did I buy men’s cologne and spray it all over my place. I did a bit of shopping at Bath & Body Works this weekend and restocked some of my favorite scents and picked up a few new ones as well.
This all started last Monday when I stopped by the store before dinner with a friend. I was on a bit of a high because I’d just scored what seemed like the airfare deal of a lifetime to Melbourne (that the airline ended up not honoring) and wanted to treat myself to some new candles. Now I know that there are some people who love the “fake bake” scents around this time of year. The roasted marshmallows, pumpkin pies, baked cookies, etc scented candles but I can’t do those. A lot of those fake bake scents give me headaches so I tend to keep it pretty simple and fall back on my trusted staples.
I like clean and calming scents like Eucalyptus Mint, but what I love are those scents that remind me of men’s cologne like Mahogany Teakwood and Mahogany Balsam. I think the balsam version is only available this time of year, so I tend to buy those candles in the fall and winter, but the teakwood version is available year round. In fact, when I was there on Monday I found out that they have a high-intensity version that’s even stronger. I was sold at that moment, and almost bought them then but they weren’t on sale. Now anyone who knows me knows that I love a good deal, and anyone who shops at Bath & Body Works knows that they have regular sales on their candles so you should never have to pay full retail for them. I asked one of the sales reps when the candles would be on sale again and she told me to come back on Saturday so that’s what I did.
My intentions were to go there and just buy those candles, but that’s not what happened. Their plug-in scents were 6/$25 (and price matched after the initial 6) so I picked up a few of those as well as new wall mounts. They also had their soaps on sale so I grabbed 6 of those (also 6/$25) for my kitchen, bathroom and I’m even bringing one to work with me. Bath & Body Works has a new line of foaming soap with essential oils in it that aren’t as drying as the soap at work, plus the scents I picked up smell so good! I figured I could just treat the women on our floor to a crisp seasonal scent.
I picked up a few other body items, body washes and lotions and walked out that door feeling like a new woman and knowing that I was good for at least another 6-9 months. My goal is to not get too weak and head back for the semi-annual sale, but we’ll see how that goes. So what do you guys usually get when you go shopping at Bath & Body Works? Do you load up on fake bake scents, or do you like the light clean scents? Comment below and let me know!
