We all need to find time for ourselves, but we know that sometimes that is easier said than done. Finding little ways to look after ourselves and do little things that make us feel fabulous is so important as we balance our busy lives. If you feel like you need to spend a little more ‘quality time’ with yourself read on for our top three ways to have you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and absolutely fantastic.
A ‘You’ Date
Taking ourselves on dates is one of the loveliest things that we can do or ourselves. Self love is an incredibly important concept to be encouraging in ourselves and those around us and one of the best ways that we can be doing that is by allocating just a little bit of time for ourselves to do something that we really love. That can be anything from going for a walk whilst listening to your favourite playlist. Perhaps it is going to a nice cafe and quietly sitting for a while and reading a good book or just pampering yourself at home with an indulgent facemask. Maybe it is even taking yourself out for a day trip somewhere where you have always wanted to go.
Thinking about planning things that make you happy and make you feel that you are investing in yourself and your own happiness really is one of the best ways that we can stay positive and emotionally tough through life. Just allocating a little bit of time each week to do something lovely for yourself will go a long way in ensuring you feel wonderful and content in your weekly routine.
Yoga
Yoga has to appear on this list for the endless ways that it makes us feel great and the many benefits that it has on our body, soul and mind. Just putting on our favourite yoga leggings has us feeling fitter and healthier and if you’re not quite feeling up for exercise then just getting your gear on will instantly get you in the mood. Stretching out the daily stresses and strifes is one of the easiest ways to invest in our well being and to boost our mood. The great thing about yoga is that we can tailor it to our lifestyles and our physical fitness levels. So you can take it as easy or as intensely as you like. We all know that squeezing exercise into our weekly routines is not always easy, however just 30 minutes of yoga, three times a week really does help to keep our moods and our general feelings of well being at a healthy and positive level.
Proactive Planner
Many of us find it easy to just wait until one of our friends plans something nice for you to do together. There are always one or two members from each friendship group that are the planners whilst the rest can be more prone to waiting for the next plan to crop up. Planning something nice for you and your friends to do together is a great way to enjoy some sociable time with your friends whilst feeling empowered that you have been the one that has pulled it all together.
