By the time you read this post I’ll be in the air and heading towards Barcelona. I can’t believe this trip is already here, it feels like just yesterday I found that great airfare deal and booked the flights for me and my step-mom. This will be out first trip as just the two of us and I’m looking forward to exploring the city with her.
I’m the type of traveler who can spend a few days in a city and then hop over to another, often times getting in 2 or 3 cities during a week’s vacation. My step-mom on the other hand isn’t that type. She likes to take her time and thoroughly explore a vacation destination. I pitched the idea of a few days in Barcelona and then a quick train ride over to Madrid before returning back to Barcelona and flying home, but she said no and I respect that. I get her point, it will give us more time to pace ourselves and our days. It will give us time to enjoy long breakfasts and take more than one cooking class. It will give us all the time we want to enjoy the tapas and see more than one dance show. More importantly it will give me plenty of time to enjoy all of the museums the city has to offer. I have my camera with me on this trip so I can’t wait to go on at least one photography tour so that I can capture some of the beauty the city has to offer.
I don’t know if I’ll be sharing too much on the blog about our trip while we’re there, but if you want to keep up with our excursions follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. I’m @andallthatjazie on all of them. I’m always on the look out for good food so feel free to drop some restaurant recommendations in the comments below or tweet me and let me know!
