While I was in Atlanta this past weekend I saw a commercial for Now 63 and my jaw dropped. I knew that the company was dropping a few of those compilation albums each year, but I didn’t realize we’d made it all the way to 63! The commercial had video clips from a few of the songs featured on the album, songs like “I’m the One” by DJ Khaled and crew and “Stay” by Zedd and Alessia Cara and of course it features a few songs from some up-and-coming artists.
This commercial got me thinking about the first “Now” album I owned, in fact it was the only physical “Now” album I’ve owned. I bought the ‘Now 5’ back in 2000 and played that album non-stop! It might have been the end of 2000, but people were still recording songs off of the radio since burning CDs weren’t as popular yet. This compilation album saved me time and energy because of the popular songs of the season were already on it. *NSYNC, Britney Spears, 98 Degrees, Kandi, Mandy Moore, Sisqo and so many more! In fact, looking at the track list takes me back to middle school and the days before bills and student loans. Ah, the good times. I know this is more of a throwback, but I wanted to share this with y’all and see what memories these songs bring up for y’all! Comment below or tweet me and let me know!
