I’ve blogged about planning before, so I felt it was only right to show you guys my new planner. I got into planning (and decorating my planner) a little over a year ago and had the same Happy Planner until about a week ago. In August 2015 I’d bought an 18-month one that finished in December 2016, so I should’ve switched then but I didn’t. The 18-month MAMBI planners begin in July so I bought a 6 month expansion pack and continued using that planner. That’s one of the things I love most about MAMBI planners, they’re so customizable! They’re ring planners so it doesn’t take much effort add in folders, meal planning expansion packs, fitness expansion packs, etc.
I’ve had my eye on a few of the new classic Happy Planner designs since earlier this year, trying to figure out which one I wanted to go with for my next purchase. I was instantly drawn to certain covers, but ultimately decided that it was probably best to focus more on the internal layout and color scheme because the covers were so interchangeable. In fact, I have a few covers that were given to me by one of my friends when she decided to get the larger version instead of the classic planner. I knew that I wanted a really colorful and script-y theme, so this planner really stood out to me.
I love the bold and gold color palette and the gorgeous script that featured throughout it. I probably walked around Michaels with 2 or 3 planners in my cart trying to make a final decision, and it wasn’t until I was about to check out that I decided to go with this one. It’s similar to my previous planner, but has subtle differences that I really like. The monthly overview has slightly different verbiage, and the biggest difference is that the daily entries are now horizontal instead of vertical. In my previous planner I had the option of separating my day by morning, afternoon and evening but with this one I don’t. I’m actually happier with this layout. It gives me the opportunity to not only have a bit more free range when it comes to decorating my weekly spreads, but it allows me to keep everything in a bullet list format!
Michaels was running a special and all planners and their accessories were 40% off so I snagged the last sticker book they had and I look forward to using this in the upcoming months. It’s full of holiday and seasonal stickers and it’ll be a perfect supplement for my other stickers. I typically print most of my stickers (shout out to My Planner Envy), but sometimes I just need a few random ones and it’s nice to not have to print a whole sheet to get one or two stickers. That’s what I’ll be using this pack for.
I’ll try and post more monthly and weekly spreads on Intstagram, so if you’re not following me you should. Are any of y’all into planning? I feel like physical planners are so necessary when it comes to keeping all aspects of my life organized. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Google Calendar, but it’s somewhat therapuetic to sit down and plan out my week every Sunday and look and what I have coming up. What do you think?
