Last Friday I was out running a few job related errands and stopped into one of our local Michaels stores. I knew it was supposed to be an in-and-out trip so I grabbed what was needed for the office and tried to leave before the line got too bad, but there were a few things that caught my eye. First was a new planner, my current one ends at the end of this month, so I knew it was time to pick up another one. I decided to stick with the Happy Planner since I loved my other one so much and picked up another 18-month planner. I scooped up a camera that I can use while traveling and for other blog related expenses and lucked up because it was 40% off, and I scooped up this huge book of printables.
Now these weren’t your standard, “hang in there” cat meme-eque printables, they were rose gold foiled and most of the sheets are in beautiful scripted fonts. I was able to score a collection of 60 printables for around $10 after I used my 50% off coupon and I have to say that it was a great deal. About half of the collection are 8×10 prints and the other half are 5×7 prints, perfect for hanging up around my desk at work. It’s full of inspirational quotes that apply to life, love, self-esteem and traveling and I look forward to swapping them out throughout the year.
What I loved most about the collection are the wonderful affirmations that it contains. Of course there’s the run of the mill “live laugh love” and “explore”, but then there are also other great ones like (insert quote here). I learned about affirmations and how powerful they can be from one of my aunts a few years back. Our words are powerful, and often times we don’t realize that we have the ability to either speak life or death into a situation. I used to have sticky notes on my mirrors around my apartment with daily affirmations, but I don’t anymore since I know most of my old favorites by heart and I’m constantly adding new ones as my life changes and progresses.
What’s so great about an affirmation is that it can be as vague or as detailed as you need them to be. A good “all is well” affirmation can go a long way, and often does in various situations. In fact, it’s one of my favorite affirmations. I’d love to hear some of y’alls so please feel free to comment below or tweet me and let me know some good ones!
