I should really call this post “Shamrock Shenanigans” since it’s mostly about St. Patrick’s Day, but oh well.
Last week was Spring Break here in Houston so it was pretty quiet at work. There wasn’t a lot of traffic and I was able to catch up on a lot. St. Patrick’s Day usually falls during Spring Break, but for the first time in a long time it fell on a Friday. I have friends who took the whole day off to celebrate (we have bars here that start serving beer at 8AM), but I wasn’t as lucky so I had to wait until after work to start the celebrations. I knew I wouldn’t be able to stay out and drink too long since I was linking up with one of my girls in Pearland to go see ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at 6:30, so I headed straight to the bar as soon as I left the office.
I did something I haven’t done in a long time and paid a cover at a bar. I started off at Mucky Ducks and got the day started with green beer and dancing with two of my favorite ladies before we headed over to Little Woodrow’s in Midtown. As usual there was a decent sized crowd there, but that’s always expected since they have great food trucks parked outside and even better drink prices. I stayed there for a drink before leaving for Pearland. After a mild panic attack when I thought I was at the wrong theater I met up with Jasmine and we snapped a few pictures before going in a watching ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
I have to say that I was pretty impressed with this movie. A lot of questions were answered, we found out what happened Belle’s mom, there was more background given on the prince and LeFou even got his happy ending! All in all I give the film a solid B! We saw it at Studio Movie Grill so I was able to continue drinking which made it hard to not sing along too loudly during the musical numbers, but my double double was nothing compared to the two ladies next to us who went through two bottles of wine. They were there to par-tay!
On Saturday I did a lot of consulting. I met up with a friend at Siphon Coffee and helped him out with his website before heading home and doing another consultation and designing for a sorority sister. Sundays are pretty standard for me, laundry, cooking and meal prep, gym, cleaning and nails. The only thing I didn’t do yesterday was my nails, but I’ll probably do those tonight when I get home from the gym.
What did y’all get into this weekend? Any fun St. Patrick’s day shenanigans?
