I couldn’t find the mathematical symbol for “divide” on my keyboard so I decided to type it out. We all know that Ed’s a musical genius, but these album names irk me.
He dropped his third album on Friday and I spent most of my day at work with it on repeat. He dropped “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill” a little over a month ago, and even performed an acoustic version of “Shape of You” at the Grammy’s so my body was ready for the full album.
Ed did not disappoint me.
The album starts off with “Eraser” where he’s showing off his rap/singing skills. I can see this song as a single, in fact I’d love to see the video for it. “Castle on the Hill” is next, but one of my new favorites by him is the third track “Dive”. It’s the song you sing when you’re a few drinks in at a local dive bar that got a new karaoke machine. You’re heartbroken and made that that guy you like doesn’t like you back like that even though y’all flirt like crazy and everyone thinks you’d made the perfect couple.
No? No one else has done that? Just me?
Other fast favorites were “Galway Girl”, “New Man”, “What Do I Know?” and “Barcelona”. If you guys haven’t listened to this album, drop everything you’re doing and go put it on. You won’t be disappointed. I promise!
If you have listened to it feel free to comment below or tweet me and let me know your favorite song!
