I try not to pack too much makeup when I travel for two reasons, I don’t want to waste space in my luggage for all of that and I don’t always wear everything pack. That second reason can also be said for clothes. In fact, I think I only wore makeup one day when I was in Paris and London. The rest of my time was spent exploring the historical cities bare faced. Now there’s a chance that I’ll probably do that a few days in Dubai too, but I want to make sure that I bring my staples for those nights out and their famous Friday brunch.
I always make sure to bring a moisturizer as a primer when I travel and I’m sure that I’ll either be using this Cetaphil or my sunblock while I’m out in that Dubai heat. I’ve blogged numerous times about the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation. This is the best drugstore foundation, in my opinion. It’s formulated specifically for photos so you don’t look ashen in flash photography, but it’s so much more than that. It’s full coverage, but it doesn’t feel too thick or cakey. I’ve been setting it with their Colorstay powder and then using ELF’s Mist & Set spray to lock it all in. I love my Naked eyeshadow palette and use it regularly at home and when I travel. I can create so many looks with just this one palette and I make sure that I use ELF’s Paint Pot in ‘Brownie’ as a base so my eyeshadow pops and doesn’t crease. I haven’t really gotten into this who highlighter trend, but I do use a bit of bronzer and blush to give my face a bit of depth. ELF’s Golden Bronzer and Lorac’s Flaunt have been doing a great job doing that so they always go into my travel makeup bag. I also make sure I bring my MAC eyeshadow quad that has Embark in it since that’s the one I use to fill in my brows. I top all of that off with my favorite liners, ELF’s Expert Liquid Liner and NYC’s City Proof liner both in black. I pair Maybelline’s Falsies Pushup Drama and Mega Plush Volume mascaras to make my lashes pop, pick a bold liquid lipstick and I’m good to go. I haven’t narrowed down my lippies yet, but I’m sure that I’ll end up choosing three. What’s so great is that all of that fits in my Marc Jacobs makeup bag that I got from one of my best friends as a bridesmaid gift a few years back.
Looking at all of this it might seem like a lot, but compared to what I currently have on my makeup counter it really isn’t. Do y’all have some similar products in your travel makeup bag? Comment below or tweet me and let me know!
