I don’t know if I’d consider myself a beauty blogger. Every now and then I’ll share lipsticks, nail polishes and even hair products on this blog, but I don’t do makeup or hair tutorials. In fact, when it comes to beauty products I typically find products that I like/love and stick with them. I’ve branched out a bit recently and wanted to share some new favorites with y’all, as well as share some of my holy grails.
Makeup brush cleaning pad – Oh my gosh, this little thing is a time saver! I don’t know what took me so long to buy one, but when I got one last year with a brush set it changed my life. I’ve been able to cut my cleaning time down in half and my brushes look brand new when I’m finished. In fact, I always forget what my brushes look like without all of that brown foundation until I wash them.
Micellar water – I’d been seeing this all over Instagram and various blogs and decided to pick it up on a whim on a random CVS trip. I’d seen how easily it removed makeup on numerous videos, but didn’t think it could do the same for me. Well I was wrong. Every night I use 4 cotton pads and I’m able to get all of my makeup off. It even removes my matte lipsticks like magic! Of course I follow it up with my facials scrub and my Clarisonic Mia, but I’m still amazed at how well the micellar water works.
Spray bottle – I’ve been really into making my own daily refreshing spray for my curls and realized that I didn’t have an empty spray bottle at home. I initially used an old leave-in conditioner bottle but then decided to pop over to a beauty store and pick up a spray bottle. It’s something about having the ability to adjust the stream that makes this bottle worth it.
Dove’s Invisible Dry Spray – I was given the opportunity to try this in November and it’s become a fast favorite. It does exactly what it says, goes on invisible and lasts all day. I think what I like most about it is that the scent isn’t overwhelming; it’s light and refreshing.
Closys Oral Rinse – Last year during one of my dental visits my dentist recommended I try this rinse out. I’d complained about the burning sensation that typically comes with the alcohol based rinses and she was said that this would be better for me. It’s flavorless, but comes with a small bottle peppermint oil so that I can add my perfect amount of flavor. It’s a bit more expensive than other alcohol based rinses, but a little bit goes a long way and the $13 bottle I paid for back then is still going strong. A cap full or two is all that’s needed and that cap is small.
