It’s been quite a while since I’ve done one of these. In fact the last one was over four years ago. Needless to say, this is long overdue. I’ve been carrying my blue Kate Spade Wellesley Alessa bag (without the crossbody strap) lately and though it may seem like a small bag it can hold a lot. And I mean a lot! On the average day it fits all of the following items.
Wallet – I bought a matching wallet when it went on sale and it looks like Kate Spade doesn’t sell the wallet or the bag in this beautiful blue color anymore. I bought these a few years back and they still look like new. My mom and step-mom always taught me to invest in quality handbags and wallets because they’ll truly stand the test of time. Both of these have been through the ringer; multiple vacations, workday commutes, etc and they still look great.
Sunnies – I don’t always carry two pairs of sunglasses with me, but I wanted to share two of my most recent purchases with y’all. I’ve been rocking prescription sunglasses for years, but after investing in contacts a few months ago I decided I needed a few pairs of non-prescription sunnies. The prescription sunnies were purchased from Firmoo (these are the grey ones) and the non-prescription ones are from Amazon (these were part of a two-pack and I got a great on them)
Planner – I use both a digital and physical planner and I love my MAMBI Happy Planner. I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby for like $16 with a coupon, but you can purchase it directly from them here. I have the 18 month planner and it was worth every penny. I can even add and remove months if I want to; it’s so customizable.
Pens & Markers – I’m honestly surprised these were the only pens that were in my bag, I usually have way more. These are my favorite to use in my planner. The pens write so smoothly and the ink dries super fast, and the same with these ultra-fine permanent markers.
Lipsticks – I literally have a bag of lipsticks. I’ve loved these ColourPop lipsticks since I first tried them and I carry those and a few others in my small makeup bag. I’ve been favoring bolder colors since the season changed, and you’ll know what I mean if you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (snapcode’s in the sidebar).
Flashlight & Thumb Drive – These are two things I wouldn’t go anywhere without. I got this mini flashlight from one of our vendors at work and though it may small it’s powerful and bright! It’s super helpful when I taking those early walks across our campus at work or if I’m working out around my apartment complex early in the morning or in the evenings. And I feel like the thumb drive is pretty self-explanatory. I back-up my phone and computer to Dropbox, but it’s always nice to have certain documents backed up to a physical thumb drive too. Plus it helps when I have to migrate from one computer to another, like I had to at work recently. At times I feel like the Wonder Woman of our office so this design is perfect, and the fact that it holds 8GB is even better.
Business card holder (and business cards) – I got this holder as a Christmas gift last year and it couldn’t have been a more perfect gift. I didn’t realize how many times a day I’d be exchanging business cards with tenants, vendors, colleagues and even Uber drivers! I pull out this holder a few times a week. The quote on is the best too, it’s something Lauren Conrad (yes that Lauren Conrad from Laguna Beach) said in an interview. My favorite position is CEO.
Cottonelle® FreshCare® Flushable Cleansing Cloths – I keep these wipes everywhere. I have some at work, a pack in my purse and some at home. These cleansing cloths truly live up to their name, leaving you fresh, clean and odorless after using them.
iPad mini – I’ve had this mini since last year and I love it! It’s the perfect size for my purse and I’m able to manage emails, my blog, read books (like Luvvie’s ‘I’m Judging You’ that I’m reading now) or even watch shows on it during my lunch break. Plus this keyboard case makes answering emails and working on my blog so easy.
Earbuds – These are lifesavers for my commute and during my lunch break. Whether I’m watching a show on my iPad or listening to music while reading they’re a way of keeping me entertained and a deterrence for those who try to start a conversation with me when I want to be left alone.
Koozies – This is one of those “stay ready so you don’t have to get ready” items. You never know when a happy hour’s going to happen and no one likes beer sweat. I keep a bottle and can koozie with me at all times, and these are only a few from my collection.
Honorable mentions that aren’t pictured – my iPhone 6, these two chargers (the bigger of the two is perfect for traveling. It can charge my phone and iPad four times before needing to be recharged) and the cutest purple lightening cable.
I know that’s a lot in what seems to be small bag, but everything fits in their comfortably and it’s not too heavy. What about y’all? What do you usually carry around in your purses?
