I had a similar post last year around this time and I thought it was time to update the list. I got a new phone after I posted that and have so much more memory on my phone so list has grown!
Favorites from last time –
Hulu & Netflix – Nowadays I’m using these apps to cast shows and movies to my Chromecasts at home. I’m loving those little devices; they make watching shows like ‘Orange is the New Black’ from the comfort of my bed super easy.
Microsoft Outlook – I’m still using this for my emails. I prefer it to the resident mail app and I love that I’m able link my numerous email accounts (Gmail and Outlook) and I’m able to access them like I would on the standard Outlook program.
Snapchat – I’m getting better at using this, I just have to remember to actually post and not just watch people’s snaps. I don’t want to just share mundane stuff and I’m not Kylie Jenner so I doubt there will be a bunch of snaps of me staring at the camera while some random song is playing.
Dropbox – You never know when you’ll need to access a picture, a file, a resume, etc so I like to keep Dropbox on my phone and make sure that it’s synced.
Instagram, Twitter & Hootsuite – Because social media!! Plus Hootsuite allows me to publish something to 3 social media accounts at once. Come thru with the multi-tasking!
Spotify – I don’t think this one needs any explanation. I’m a music buff and this app gets used daily.
New Favorites –
WordPress – This app was absolutely necessary after switching my blog over to WordPress. I mainly use it to make quick revisions and approve comments, but it’s nice to know that I’d be able to draft and publish posts directly from this app.
OneNote – I promise Microsoft doesn’t pay me to promote OneNote (but I wouldn’t turn them down), I just love this program and app! I don’t know how this app didn’t make the list last time because I was definitely using it then. I use it in all aspects of life, work and personal and it’s nice to have all of my notes available at my finger tips. Whether I’m drafting a note for a new blog post idea, jotting down a few items on my grocery list, or grabbing a set of hashtags to use in an Instagram caption this app is my go to.
Bloglovin – This is the reader I use to keep track of the blogs I follow. This app gets a lot of use in the mornings while I’m catching the train to work. I love that it has all of the recent posts in one place so I don’t have to go to each blogger’s site individually. So convenient!
A Color Story – This is a recent favorite, but I love using it to edit photos. I got about $100 in iTunes gift cards about two months ago and I’ve only used about a quarter of it. I bought this app and all of the filters and I’ve been having fun editing photos before sharing them on my social media accounts. This app is by the same woman who’s behind ‘A Beautiful Mess’ and it’s really neat! The app itself is free, along with the basic filter pack, but you have to pay for the other filters and expansion packs. I think it’s well worth the investment.
Okay, so I have about $75 in iTunes credit and I’m always on the lookout for more great apps. Feel free to leave any recommendations in the comments below or tweet them to me!
