If you’ve seen the movie “Frozen” you’re probably singing the song, but that’s not what this is about. This past weekend was an eventful one, but I knew on Friday it would be. Between a much needed girls night in, my monthly financial accountability meeting and a full Sunday I was ready to call it a night early.
In fact, my Sunday was full of activities I haven’t done in forever! I started the morning with an early yoga class and truly enjoyed myself. It was the 8:30am ‘Flow’ class at YogaOne Heights and the instructor was so nice and accommodating. I told her that it was my first class in years and she immediately told me that this workout was for me, and encouraged me to go at my own pace. I hate to say that I spent at least 10 minutes of the hour long class in child’s pose, spaced apart of course. I will say that I kept up for the most part, but I plan on taking the fundamentals course she recommended. I feel like that’ll be an hour and a half well spent. Now I just need to get some decent yoga gear, and I’m open for suggestions so send them my way.
I was also treated to the Astros game on Sunday by one of our vendors from work. I haven’t watched a full baseball games in YEARS, but after today I feel like there’s no other way to do it other than in a suite. There was so much food! I’m pretty sure we snacked the entire game, and even though the ‘Stros lost by 7 points it was still a good game. I honestly think the only thing missing was my ice cream in a tiny plastic baseball helmet. Do they still do that? They did when I was younger.
Oh, and wrapping up the list of things I haven’t done in forever was my new library card. I’ve been so spoiled with eBooks and audiobooks these past few years that I never renewed my library card when it expired back in 2013. It hadn’t been that long since I’ve stepped in a library, but it’s definitely been that long since I checked a book out. I knew that had to change, so after my financial accountability meeting on Saturday I signed up for another library card. The Houston Public Library system has a huge digital collection and I see myself taking advantage of that in the near future. I can check out eBooks and send them to either my Kindle or iPad. So convenient!
What about y’all? What did you get into this past weekend?
