Last week I was able to get my favorite pair of compression leggings on sale for 50% off so I did like any sane woman would do and I bought every color available in my size. It hit me then that I’m probably overdue for sharing my favorite workout gear with y’all. It’s one thing to get my finances and other aspects of my life together so that I’ll be ready when I adopt my kiddos in a few years, but I need to make sure that I’m healthy enough to be around for them too! It started small last year with making sure I got in at least 10,000 steps which I increased by 500 steps every 2 weeks. I’m doing light cardio at the gym and I take daily walks around my neighborhood as well as running across the 2.2 million square foot campus at work. I’m splitting this post in two sections, one of gear and one for clothes. So be on the lookout for that one.
Shoes – I got these shoes at Academy on a whim before Mexico. I was honestly just looking for some tennis shoes I wouldn’t mind losing or leaving if my suitcase got too full, but I ended up falling in love with them. Comfort is key and aesthetics come second for me. These particular shoes are both and the price point on them was awesome! I got them for less than $25 because they were on sale!
Tervis Tumbler – I’ve had this tumbler since last year but recently bought another top for it. I love my Yeti’s because they’re able to keep my water ice cold, but they don’t work well for workouts. The handle for this one is the perfect size for me to hook a finger in it while walking and my monogram in pink makes it that much better.
Garmin VivoFit – I bought this one a few months ago and wanted to make sure that I got a full test out of it before sharing it on here. THIS THING IS AMAZING! I was able to score a refurbished one for like 40% off on Amazon and it originally came with a purple band, but I didn’t like the way the clasp was set up so I purchased this blue one. Y’all, this thing tracks my sleep, my steps, my heart rate and it’s waterproof! That got tested out in Mexico when I took it in the ocean. Oh and one of the best parts about it is that it doesn’t need to be recharged! The battery life on it lasts a year and if I decide not to upgrade to the next model I can just buy another battery and have it swapped out.
iPhone – Tunes, tunes, and more tunes. I can’t work out in silence so I use my phone to stream music on Spotify or listen to a podcast.
Scunchie hair ties – These curls can sometimes have a life of their own and these hair ties are big enough for me to wrap them around my top knots or ponytails 3 times without being too tight.
FunFit Belt – This is a recent favorite. I was given the opportunity to review this for my honest and unbiased review and I have to say that it’s pretty awesome! I chose the bright orange one because I wanted something that would stand out in my workout bag as well as when I’m wearing it while exercising. They weren’t kidding when they said that it would hold so many things! I was able to fit my iPhone 6, my house keys and my little card wallet in there comfortably and not even notice the extra weight around my mid-section or feel any discomfort. I wear mine up a bit higher (personal choice) and it fits so well!
