I’m an early bird. Whether it’s getting up at 4:45am on weekdays so that I’m in the office by 7am, or just waking up at 6:30am on weekends because my body won’t let me sleep in I’m up when the roosters crow. I usually have 6 or 7 shows on my DVR come Saturday mornings, but since we’re in that weird part of the year where some of the network TV shows are back but not all of them, I have time to catch up on some Netflix favorites curled up in bed with a warm mug of coffee.
I have over 50 things in my list, but I wanted to share a few favorites with y’all.
Narcos – this crime docu-series focuses on Pablo Escobar’s reign and sucked me right in from the first episode. Season 1 is already on Netflix and season 2 should be airing on there this year.
Beasts of No Nation – I personally feel like Idris Elba was snubbed at the Oscars this year, he did an AMAZING job in this film. Please do yourself a favor and check it out.
White Collar – This show aired on USA for about 4 years and it ended December 2014, but they have every episode on Netflix. Whenever I feel like staring at Matt Bomar’s cute self and want to be entertained by his bromance with Tim DeKay’s character I turn it on.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – This show is hilarious! It follows Kimmy as she escapes a cult and gets acclimated to life outside.
House of Cards – I love the US version of this show, Kevin Spacey kills it as Frank Underwood! Season 3 should be airing soon and I’m going to spend a weekend an binge watch it again. You should catch up before it airs.
Making a Murderer – If you haven’t heard of this mini-series you’ve been living under a rock. I couldn’t log onto Facebook or Twitter for weeks without seeing anything about this show. Fair warning though, it will suck you in from the beginning and frustrate you to no avail.
Plastic – This movie was randomly recommended to me and it really opened my eyes to how easy it is to commit credit card fraud. It’s kind of light and full of British accents. You might even recognize a few of the cast members from other movies!
Master of None – Aziz Ansari has some amazing friends and family members. This show is hilarious and I love that his parents actually portrayed his parents.
I even had a few friends chime in on the action and they recommended ‘Happy’ and ‘The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst’.
What are some of y’alls favorites on Netflix? Any recommendations for me?
