I had a Friendsgiving last year and I decided the next day that I would make it an annual tradition. It essentially allowed me to celebrate the holiday twice (once with friends and another with family) and my friends even helped me decorate my tree!
Last year I picked up a turkey from Pappas BBQ and had everyone else bring sides and desserts, but I think I’m going to step up my game this year. I’m tossing around the idea of frying a turkey (with my dad or beau’s help) or making a turkey breast myself. I’m also going to make a broccoli, rice, cheese casserole to go with it. I’ve altered one of my favorite crockpot recipes and I can’t wait to share that with my friends.
I’ve been on Pinterest looking for some cute printables and ideas to help me with decor, but I might end up stopping by Party City or Arne’s. I know that I want to have a signature cocktail for this shindig, so if y’all have any favorites you’d like to share comment below or send me an email. All suggestions are welcome! Oh, I’ll be reusing my tree from last year (and some of the ornaments too), but I think I want to actually have a theme for this year.
Have y’all ever hosted a Friendsgiving? If so, did you cook all of the food yourself or was it a potluck type shindig?
Final thing! Did anyone catch the CMAs last night? Or at least Justin Timberlake’s duet with Chris Stapleton? If not, do yourself a favor and check it out below. You can thank me later.
