I remember when Sarah used to host this weekly link-up and it’s time like this that I miss that. This weekend was a busy but relaxing one. Friday night was date night and Beau (not his name, I’m just keeping it private). He came by my place and cooked for me, I assisted but for the most part I was just there to be cute, provide kisses and keep the beers coming. Cooking isn’t life-giving to me, but I’m so happy that it is for him. I didn’t snap any pictures that night (he even fussed because he thought I was snapping pictures of our plates because he didn’t plate them “pretty”), but we had steak, mac ‘n cheese and sauteed asparagus. It was absolutely delicious!
I was supposed to do laundry on Saturday, but that got sidetracked when I heard fire trucks outside. My apartment office and gym caught on fire!
The fire happened around 3pm HFD and the Fire Marshall were out there until well into the evening. They boarded up office and put a gate up around it to keep everyone out. Thank God no one was hurt, but all of the gym equipment, office furniture and supplies and unclaimed resident packages were engulfed in flames. A total loss.
I ended up doing laundry, grocery shopping, washing/detangling/twisting my hair, putting a meal in the Crockpot and even going to one of my best friends’ place for dinner on Sunday.
That day was full! I was so grateful to her for hosting and the food was delicious! She sent out a group message on Saturday and my mouth was salivating when she sent the menu on Sunday. Baked chicken, homemade garlic mashed potatoes and cabbage, and dessert was ice cream sundaes! SO GOOD! I love that my friends love to cook. Once again, no pictures were taken but fun was had all around and I look forward to seeing them again for our new #TGIT ritual on Thursday.
What did y’all get into this past weekend? Fire away in the comments below.

I can't believe the office caught on fire! How horrible! Although maybe kind of a lucky break if anyone was late in paying their rent!
