I turned 27 on the 9th and had a weekend full of activities. My loved ones really showed up and showed out for my celebration of life and we had a blast. Since my birthday fell on a Sunday my co-workers started the celebrations the Friday prior. My work space was decorated with fun cards, balloons and streamers, and I was treated to breakfast and lunch!
On Saturday I celebrated a friend’s graduation from college at a karaoke party and had a blast! We sang everything from ‘Rent’ to Drake. She rented out a room so we were all up on stage multiple times; shyness really wasn’t an issue in that room.
Sunday was the big day and I’d decided weeks earlier that I wanted to do a Sunday Funday and throw things back a bit and relive my teen years with a go-karting, laser tag and putt-putt; and I found the perfect place to do that. It was a bit far out, but I had a bunch of people show up! We grabbed brunch at Frank’s Grill, and that place might be small but they have some delicious food! We then headed down the street (the two venues were literally 3 minutes apart) and that’s where the real fun started. I loved Area 21, I just wish there was a location closer to me. The prices were great and the place was huge!
This guy came into town to celebrate his girlfriend’s graduation and my birthday, love him!
We were pretty exhausted when we left Area 21, there was a family who did laser tag with us that was kicking out behinds, so we headed to the Galleria and hit up Kona Grill’s happy hour. We must’ve all forgotten that it was tax free weekend because the mall was SO PACKED and we had to end up sitting out on the patio…when it was over 100 degrees outside. I was so happy I took off on Monday, I needed to recover.
The birthday festivities didn’t stop when I got back to work either. I have the most amazing co-workers who have above and beyond every year to celebrate my birthday and this year was no different. I came back to more cards, birthday cash, Starbucks gift cards, a gorgeous decorative wreath and a personalized bouquet!
All in all this was a pretty epic birthday, and I want to thank everyone who helped make it special. Oh, and shout out to those bobby pins that held my birthday crown in place for hours. They were the real MVP.
