Congrats to this lovely couple! They tied the knot on Thursday and both the ceremony and reception. Their DJ was on point with the 90’s R&B while we were eating dinner.
We had to represent the office.
Friday night I went out with a few friends and we essentially bar hopped. The DJ at the first bar wasn’t really doing it for me, I feel like he was reaching with his song selection so we left there and went to a few gay bars before settling on our trusty fallback bar on Washington, Brixx. It wasn’t until we were there that Brixx is no long Brixx! New management, new name, new space! I should’ve snapped pictures, but I’d consumed a few adult beverages (enough to make me pay $20 for a $4 beer, grr! I’m still mad about that) and forgot to snap some. I actually forgot the bar’s new name too! Oops! But it was really nice inside, the new manager spruced up the scenery and added jumbo jenga, cornholes and shuffle boards. I liked it!
I was supposed to do brunch with a few people on Saturday, but those plans changed and I’m so happy they did. I don’t know what I did differently, but I had a slight hangover on Saturday morning. My sister brought her kiddos over that morning and took them swimming and my nephew was the sweetest! He kept asking if I was feeling okay, that I looked sick and even tucked me in. I love my little nuggets! I recovered and spent the evening watching a few things on Netflix. My friend Megan recommended ‘The Prince’ to me and I must say that I was impressed! The movie kept me on the edge of my seat. I also watched new documentary by Rashida Jones ‘Hot Girls Wanted’ (I’ll write more about that later this week because it deserves it’s own blog post).
Sunday meant ‘Sunday Ritual’ so I cleaned, did laundry, washed my hair and gave myself a new mani. I try to start each week with a fresh hair and a fresh mani. It’s the little things that make me happy y’all. I was sent a few samples from Head & Shoulder’s new Moisture Care line to try out and I used them. I’ll have a product review of those coming up on Wednesday.
Ooh! I’m also using a fitness tracker! I want to get serious about getting back in shape and this was the first step.
I want to test the tracker out for at least a week before I give you guys my review, so you’ll have to wait a bit, but I will say that I’m happy with it so far! I got the Pivotal Living Band and I have to say that it was well worth the $15 I spent on it.
What did y’all get into this weekend? Anything fun?
