I forgot to take pictures all weekend so here’s a random one for this post.
This weekend was an eventful one, Justin Timberlake turned 34 and announced that he and his wife are indeed expecting, I had a margarita & charades shindig at my place and there was this little game on TV called the SuperBowl.
So…bullet points:
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND JESSICA BIEL ARE PREGNANT!
I’m happy for the both of them and I’m sure they’re gonna make great parents. This pregnancy was kind of the secret that wasn’t really a secret, but it was still nice to see the actual confirmation from him.
Saturday afternoon I went out for Mexican food with Meg & Jasmine and we decided to continue the party at my place. Meg and I made the mistake in going to Fiesta’s liquor store for margarita stuff and we’ll never do that again. I feel like Spec’s has spoiled us with their overhead aisle labeling and always having our favorite margarita mix in stock. Meg put in down with those margaritas and they were delicious! I had a few other people over and we played charades. I’d heard about it on the Ellen Show and a few other bloggers so it was nice to have a few people over so I could play it myself. I discovered that I know a lot of random facts about actors and movies and I’m pretty decent in the ‘Music of the 00’s’ category. Y’all, they even had a Hunger Games category!
Sunday was the SuperBowl so Meg and I headed over to Jasmine’s for a shindig. She had the yummiest queso & turkey dip and the drinks were flowing. I’m not a fan of either team, but I was happy that the Patriots won since one of my high school classmates plays for them now. He actually scored the first touchdown of the game! Go Jojo!!
I was mainly watching the game for the commercials. I didn’t have high expectations for Katy Perry’s performance and she met those, but the commercials this year were kind of subpar. I feel like they alternated between “My dad is awesome!” to “…and I died”. There were a bunch of really solemn ones this year and not that many funny and light-hearted ones to balance them out. Of course the puppy Budweiser commercial pulled my heartstrings, but so did the Nissan “cats and the craddle” one. The real winners for the commercials this year were the people who did the voice overs. Common was tapped for both Microsoft ones and Matthew McConaughey did the Reliant one. I wasn’t sure if that was Common at first, but then I heard him say “individual” and that south side of Chicago snuck in.
I feel like the game ended really early this year, but Meg assured me that it didn’t. I don’t know. I was home by like 10:30 and in bed shortly after. I completely missed the Jimmy Fallon show where he had a lip-sync battle with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, but I’m happy I found it online this morning. It was hilarious!! Check it out below.
Those guys always make me laugh! So, did y’all watch the big game last night? Did your team win? What was your favorite commercial? Least favorite? Comment below and let me know!
