This weekend was an eventful one. I’d originally had so much more planned, but things happened that were out of my control and it ended up being more exhausting than I thought.
First things first, I have a new little cousin! My cousin Tasha gave birth early Saturday morning (resulting in me being up every 2 hours Friday night to Saturday morning).
Mom and baby are doing great, they’re leaving the hospital today. He’s going to be a tall one with a lot of hair, so cute!
Saturday was also the first meeting of the Women of Valor club. The kick-off meeting was a bit (read: way) longer than I’d originally planned so I didn’t get a chance to get some of the things done that night that I’d originally planned to do. I actually had to reschedule my date on Sunday so I could get those things done…but I’m over it now. It was beautiful this weekend, nice and sunny and I was loving it. So were my curls! I haven’t washed my hair yet and ended up pineappling (see this pin) my hair every night so I could continue to wear it curly. It worked out great and I wore my hair big on Saturday.
And again on Sunday to lunch with Marc & my cousin Tavaria.
In fact, I love it so much that I’m wearing it like this to work today!!
I used one of those clips that I use when I’m detangling my hair, grabbed a bit of the back and pinned it up. I didn’t used to be a fan of hair in my face, but I’m getting used to it. I’ve gotten nothing but compliments (and questions of whether my hair is actually mine…ugh) while wearing my hair big like this, so I think I’m going to wear it like this more often.
Anywho! I promise I have some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Marc knew I had a bad evening Saturday and called me to let me know he was coming over with Chipotle. How sweet!!! I told him to stay where he was because my cousin Tavaria and I were already headed that way and we enjoyed a nice lunch together. Sunday actually turned out pretty good and I got a bit done around the house. I even took some more lecture notes for my Surveillance Law course I’m taking on Coursera. More on that to come.
So! What about y’all? What did you get into this past weekend?

And it sounds like you had an awesome weekend. Congratulations on the new cousin.
