I’m posting uber late in the day, but I wanted to share my weekend excursions with y’all! We had a long weekend due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I spent most of it with loved ones and we did quite a bit of shopping and dining out. I ventured out to Spring on Friday night with Marc, Jasmine & AJ for dinner and drinks at Razoo’s. I’ve been there before and so had Marc, but it was AJ & Jasmine’s first time. The food was delicious and so was the punch bowl we all shared. Our waitress was very entertaining and was cool with the bartender so she hooked us up when it came to the punch bowl. You usually can’t taste the alcohol in it, but we definitely could that night.
Yes, that’s my purse next to Jasmine, there wasn’t room on our side of the booth for it. And yes, I went to dinner in a OVO crewneck and skinny jeans. I wanted to be comfy, and I was. Jasmine and I also did a bit of shopping for our places that night and on Saturday. For some reason (sheetrock) I can’t hang normal curtain rods, so we picked up some ‘Twist & Fit’ rods and I will be testing this out this week.
Saturday night Jasmine and I went and saw Kevin Hart’s new movie ‘The Wedding Ringer’ and I really enjoyed it. It was hilarious and there was a great turnout. Lifetime aired the ‘Whitney’ movie and I recorded that while we were out at the theater, so I came home and watch that too…and I have to say that Angela Bassett didn’t do a bad job. I’ll post more about that later this week. I went out with the boy on Sunday and we did some shopping before grabbing a late lunch/early dinner at one of his favorite Italian spots. I told myself that I wasn’t going to do any shopping at Bath & Body Works’ Semi-Annual sale, but that all flew out of the window when we walked in. I found out that they’re discontinuing two of my favorite scents, Cashmere Glow and Country Chic so I grabbed the last 4 bottles of Cashmere Glow fragrance mist and a bottle of Country Chic lotion…along with a few other things.
All in all I grabbed 12 things for $30, not a bad deal. Monday was spent at home doing laundry and cleaning (the house and my hair), I even took down my Christmas decor! I did some reflecting on the sacrifice that Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights activists have made and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the two hashtags trending on Twitter: #MLKAlsoSaid and #ReclaimMLK. Check them out when you get the chance. Powerful.
So, what did you guys get into over the weekend? Did you have a long weekend like me? Comment below and let me know!
