That song is so friggin’ catchy and that particular line makes me want to put on a red lip and sunglasses and ride down the highway with the sunroof open.

Anywho! I love a classic red lip and feel like everyone can pull one off. I didn’t get into makeup until a few years ago and I didn’t really get into lip products until like a year and half ago. I have a prominent bottom lip and the inner part doesn’t take color very well. I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks, but those seem to be the only ones that last on my lips so it took a while for me to come up with the perfect red lip combo.
Matte lipsticks are so dry and I’m a fan of creme lipsticks and glosses so when I received L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in ‘Ruby Opera’ in my Target Beauty Box and paired it with my ‘Russian Red’ by MAC I knew I had the perfect duo! I’ve had that particular tube of lipstick for a while now and usually just put a gloss over it, but the Ruby Opera is the ying to Russian Red’s yang! I’ve actually worn Ruby Opera by itself. It looks like a lip gloss in the tube, but dries like a (really moisturizing) lipstick. Now pairing the two might seem like overkill, but it works for me! I always get compliments when I bust it out and these two are “blue” reds so they look great with the undertones in my skin. It’s a winning combo in my book!!

I haven't found the right red for me yet. Most of the time they turn bright pink on my lips.
