We’re a week away from Christmas and if y’all are anything like me you’re taking advantage of all the holiday movies on TV and available on Netflix. Last night ABC ran ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and my inner child screamed for joy! Here are a few more movies that make this time of year really special.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey version) – Don’t get me wrong, I like the cartoon version of this movie, but I love this live-action version. Jim’s comedic timing and Christine Baranski as the mayor’s wife. Yep! Plus, the soundtrack has one of my favorite *NSYNC holiday songs on it, “You Don’t Have to be Alone”
The Holiday – So many feels! I think this was the first time I saw Jack Black in a “he’s kinda cute” light.
Frost the Snowman – I loved this movie growing up and the fact that I get to share it with my little nuggets now makes it that much better.
Ruldolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – An elf who wants to be a dentist and Rudolph?! Come on!!
The Santa Clause (1 & 2) – Do I even need to state why I love these movies? They made me wish that this could actually happen.
A Charlie Brown Christmas – This movie is my childhood! Linus with his speech at the play, Charlie directing it, the soundtrack…oh my gosh the SOUNDTRACK!! I perfected “Skating” in middle school for a holiday concert. I love that song.
Home Alone – Another classic from my childhood. That was Macaulay Culkin at his finest.
ELF – A recent classic, but a classic nonetheless. So many great holiday one-liners come from this movie.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Another classic from my childhood.
A Christmas Story – TBS (or TNT) runs this movie on Christmas eve every year…for 24 hours! Please believe that one of the TVs in my home has always and will always be on that station all day while that movie is playing. It’s a family tradition that I plan on keeping alive.
