“One thing ’bout music when it hits you feel no pain.”
That statement couldn’t be more true. I love music, recorded music is nice but there isn’t much better in life than experiencing music live. I try and attend at least 5 concerts a year and here are the reasons why.
1. Live music sounds so much better than studio tracks. – I know this doesn’t apply to all artists, but it does to for the artists I listen to. I don’t know what it is, but hearing different harmonies, riffs and versions of the songs I love makes them that much better.
2. Watching my favorite artists do something the love. – I know concerts are something for the fans in the audience to enjoy, but the look of pure joy on an artist’s face while their performing is priceless. Call me naive, but I really believe it when they give their “thank you” speeches at the end of their shows.
3. Debuting of new tracks. – I’ve had this happen a few times, and that’s always fun to experience! Yeah, it’s fun to sing along with the artist while they’re performing on stage, but hearing a new track for the first time before it hits the radio or Spotify is indescribable.
4. Enjoying the shows with people I love. – I can honestly say that I’ve met some of the best people in my life thanks to Drake and Justin Timberlake. Thanks to Drake I get to travel with a group of amazing people every year to Toronto and though we go to see him perform at his annual OVO Fest, the trip is so much more than that. It’s like a family reunion of sorts. And the ladies I’ve met through just being a fan of Justin’s have been in my life for quite some time now. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
