I fee like I say this every Friday, but this week really has flown by! I can’t believe that it’s already Friday and that it’s on the last ones of this year! Okay, you guys know the drill. Here goes!
1. Taylor Swift’s Blank Space video.
I friggin’ love the video! She’s making fun of herself and playing into how she’s seen in the public’s eye as far as her love life goes. I love the Gatsby theme and the eye-candy. Get it girl! Bonus points because the song makes me want to do the Schmoney dance.
2. Kim K’s “spread” in Paper Magazine.
I don’t know why that photoshoot shocked people, she’s been doing this for years. For some reason we fall into the trap every time! First it was the sex tape with Ray-J (who I think should get a cut of every check that family receives since he basically put them on the map), then it was various nude and nude-ish magazine spreads over the years (ie: Playboy, W) and now this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that she can’t be sexy and that she should put some clothes on because she’s a mother and wife now (she’s been a wife a couple of times before), but I don’t think this is anything ground-breaking. In fact, I’m kind of offended that she and the photographer chose to re-create those images. He did a similar shoot with his then girlfriend, Grace Jones, and even had her posed in a cage baring her teeth like an animal, but you didn’t see Kim reenacting that shot. I feel like I’ve started to ramble so I’ll just make my point, Kim didn’t do anything that we haven’t see her or anyone else for that matter do before so America needs to calm down.
3. My coral dress.
On Monday I wore a coral dress to work. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why this is a bullet point on Friday, and I’ll tell you why. The dress is actually a maternity maxi skirt I got from Target last year that was too big and slightly too long. I never really wore it and it just hung in my closet until this weekend. That’s when I got the brilliant idea to pull it up and belt it and I ended up with this beauty.
It turned out to be a really cute hi-low dress and I paired it with my brown boots and a denim jacket. I’ll definitely be wearing this ensemble again come rodeo season!
4. Beyond the Lights.
I had passes to go to a screening of this movie the day before Halloween, but it was full so I ended up seeing ‘Fury’. Well now the movie is out and I want to go see it! I’m gonna see if I can get my friend Millican to come with me since she was supposed to go to the screening with me. Here’s the trailer if you haven’t seen it.
5. The gay man who was “delivert” from his homosexuality at the National COGIC convention.
There are so many memes and spoof floating around about this, and yes I’ve laughed at them and even at the original video but this is a serious matter. I don’t want to get into it now, I have a blog post planned for this next week, but I wanted to share the video with y’all in case you haven’t seen it and ask for your thoughts.
