Gmail – I think this goes without saying. I probably email just as much as I text or call and it’s nice to have all my accounts available at the touch of my finger. I also really like the most recent Gmail update!
Facebook – I’ve been on Facebook since 2006 and even if I don’t agree with them allowing everyone and their mother on the site I’m probably going to keep my account. I’m not as active on the site as much as I used to be, but it’s still nice to pop in and see what’s going on with my friends’ lives.
Ubersocial – I don’t like the official Twitter app for Androids so I’ve been using this app for my Twitter account…sheesh probably since 2010. I’ve had a twitter account since ’09 and have quite a few tweets under my belt, but I noticed that I haven’t been tweeting as much as I used to. I love to live tweet certain events like awards shows or binge watching certain shows on Netflix *cough* OITNB *cough*, but as of late most of my tweets have been fed to my account from Instagram.
I’m currently using the ‘Mint Leaf’ Theme.
Instagram – If I were in a relationship with social media sites, Facebook would be my husband, Twitter would be my boyfriend and Instagram would be the guy at work I’m having an affair with. I show more love to this app than the other social media apps on my phone. I post multiple pictures a week and it feels like I spend some time each day scrolling through and liking posts.
I love the new updates they’ve done.
Soundcloud – Whether I’m using it to stream the most recent episode of ‘The Read’ podcast or listening to a song that was just released by Drake, I’m on this app daily.
2048 – I usually don’t play games on my phone but after reading about this game on various blogs I decided to give it a try. I’m addicted! I haven’t beat it yet, I’ve only gotten to 256 but I plan on beating this game one day.
Spotify – I signed up for a Spotify premium account when they announced that there was a special running for students, 50% off! I don’t mind pay $5.40 a month for all the streaming and playlist-making I could ever dream of! I’m pretty sure I have this app on all of my devices (tablet, phone, home computer, work computer, Roku) and I use it on all of them!
Skype – The downside about having loved ones who live so far away from you is that you can’t see them in person as often as you’d like, but Skype helps with that. I love the 10 minute Skype dates I have with my best friend Ryan, Skyping the kiddos in the evenings and chatting with my girl Gina while she’s in NYC. I try to Skype on my tablet, but some nights I don’t feel like getting out of bed so I make do with my phone.
Google Voice – I’ve had a GV number for awhile, in fact that’s the number I primarily give out to people. I can have it ring to any of my phone lines, I can send SMS messages and receive SMS and MMS messages, and I can even call and text Canada for free! That feature comes in handy with my annual trips to Toronto and my future plans to relocate there. Google Voice also comes in handy with online dating. Much like the email counterpart, you can ‘Spam’ a number/person and you’ll never see another text or receive another call from them. Their texts automatically go in the ‘Spam’ folder and whenever they call they’ll hear the “The number you have called is no longer in service” message. I love it and the best thing is that it’s FREE!!!
The app even does voicemail to text…for free!!
PicLab/Photo Grid – I couldn’t decide on which one of these would make the cut for top 10 since I use them both equally to edit (PicLab) and group multiple (PhotoGrid) pictures for Instagram. I’m sure that there are other photo collage/grouping apps for Android devices, but I really like the simplicity of Photo Grid.
These are from PicLab
What apps do you guys use everyday? Do you have any recommendations for me?
