I don’t know about you guys but I love a long weekend. I got off work on Friday at 1pm and headed home, but not before standing in the longest lunch line at Chipotle ever! Sheesh! Remind me to never go to the Chipotle at Kirby & OST during lunch.
I talked with my cousin, Ari, the night before and we had a game plan to go see the new X-Man movie on Friday evening, but I still had plenty of time to wind down before going to the movies. Thanks to Groupon’s constant deal on $5 movie tickets at Studio Movie Grill and my past purchase of two last month I was able to see two separate movies this weekend and only pay $3 to book the tickets online. #Winning
I really enjoyed that movie, and not just because I had some pretty decent theater popcorn and half a pitcher of margaritas, but because it was really good. I usually stay until the end of the credits, for some reason I didn’t do that on Friday and I missed a scene at the end.
Drats!
Saturday was supposed to be my dinner party, but I had to change that. It ended up being pretty laid back, I had a few beers on the porch and got some leisure reading in. Very relaxing. On Sunday I picked up some more home decor and a TV for my living room. I’d ordered 3 HDMI cords on Amazon on Friday and didn’t know that they did Sunday deliveries, but they do. I got a text from Amazon at like 9AM on Sunday say that my package had been delivered (it hadn’t though) so I ended up picking up a HDMI cord at Best Buy when I bought my TV. Well guess what was waiting for me when I got home from Best Buy and the grocery store? My HDMI cords. It was a great deal too, they were $5 shipped to me after my $1 GC on there. Here’s the link. We stopped at Sonic on the way home and I got something I hadn’t had in forever…an ocean water.
I forgot how delicious these things are!
We made it back to my place with a few hours to spare before I needed to get dinner on so we put up some of the decor and Ari’s fiance set up the TV stand and hung out.
I fell in love with this six piece mirror set from Target and we hung that in the center of my accent wall. I’m still trying to decide if I need something else on that wall. Then we hung up my two longer mirrors: the black one went on the wall above the couch and the white one went on the wall across from my front door. Both mirrors were hung horizontally. I think I’m going to get a few inspirational vinyl decals for the mirror by the front door, or I’ll write affirmations on there. I haven’t decided yet.
Sunday night was my dinner party and it was so much fun! I whipped up a salad, chicken alfredo with angel hair pasta and Texas toast and I have to say that I did a pretty good job. No one complained and there were empty plates all around! I forgot to snap pictures that night, I was using my phone for Spotify. #BloggerProbz
Yesterday was pretty chill, I lounged around for most of the day. No outside activities since the weather was so bad, but I made the most of it. It was my dad’s birthday so I called him and wished him a happy birthday and offered to take him out for a meal some time this week. We really need to coordinate schedules. Lol! I had a ‘Greek’ marathon on Netflix and ended up seeing ‘Neighbors’ that evening. That movie was HILARIOUS!!!
It was the perfect ending to a great weekend. What did y’all get into over the long weekend?
