I could really title this “any concert ticket = stress”. I’m pretty sure I almost threw up this morning when I thought I spent $430 on 2 separate solo tickets for Justin Timberlake’s Houston show in December. I didn’t throw up and I didn’t end up buying 2 separate tickets, but let me not get ahead of myself.
This all started last week when I found out that Justin was doing another leg of his 20/20 Experience tour this fall. I was so friggin’ giddy, I even posted about it!
I originally planned on getting my tickets during the various presales that were available, but I never found a seat that I was completely satisfied with. Finally on Friday I decided that I’d just have to wait until the general sale happened on Monday (today). I knew that I wanted to sit on the side of the stage and didn’t want to settle for anything less so when 10 o’clock hit I searched and searched but nothing on the side of the stage (in lower level at least) was coming up.
I was so hurt y’all. I thought for sure they’d been snatched up by scalpers and that I’d have to spend way more that I should on decent seats. I actually ended up settling for a seat behind the VIP section, submitted the order and got the confirmation email and everything.
Something told me to keep looking though. I knew that this mean that I’d probably be spending over $400 on the tickets today and praying I could sell the one I didn’t want for at least face value. Then it happened.
I found a ticket for a seat on the side of the stage. It’s actually on the opposite side from where I was at his show in Houston last year, but still on the side which meant that he would be right there for most of the show. I hesitated and even tweeted some friends, asking if I should buy the second ticket. They of course encouraged me to do so, assuring me that I’d be able to sell the other ticket.
(you’re right Robin, I did)
I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger and immediately felt nauseous. I’d just spent $430 on two tickets in a matter of minutes. Crazy!! I checked my email and went on the Flash Seats website to immediately list the ticket I didn’t want only to find out that one of my orders didn’t go through! I checked my bank account and it was correct, I’d only been charged for one ticket. Well that wasn’t going to work for me.
No ma’am, no sir.
I called customer service and found out that my first order, the one for the ticket behind the VIP section hadn’t gone through because my connection timed out and was given the chance to cancel it. It was as if the skies opened up and God was smiling down on me y’all. I was not 100% comfortable with spending $400+ on tickets today and with this glitch I didn’t have to! I was able to get the ticket I wanted and only that one. I literally breathed a sigh of relief when the customer service rep told me that and had to spread the good news throughout the office. It’s the little things y’all, the little things.
So I said all of that to say this: this little lady will be sitting on the side of the stage (again) at Justin Timberlake’s show in Houston this year.
